@janerationx @cbb @marchmadness Yeah, the South is a real mess. 🤣

This music video makes me so happy. Look how much fun they're having. Especially the guy dancing around the stage doing air guitar/playing the tambourine. Also the lead singer moving from instrument to instrument like a human whirlwind. Amazing. Fun song to sing, too. I love it.

@MnemosyneSinger This song brings back such great memories. Was a youngin' back then & went to numerous concerts during that decade, including Kansas. Great band. Gen Z has so much going for it, socially, politically, compared to my generation, but God how I miss the music and vibe of that time.

@WillA763 I'm an older millennial, so the 70's is really my parents' generation. I always say one of the few good things I inherited from my father was his taste in music.

We are under a boil water order in our town this . Water dept says a pipe broke due to "extreme cold" and contaminated the cities' water supply. I'm supervising the process & making sure all pet 💦H2O bowls have safe water for today.

"Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly is more aggressive and openly political in pushing to expand Medicaid in Kansas as the Republican-controlled Legislature prepares to open its annual session Monday following five years of failed efforts to provide state health coverage to another 150,000 people.

Kelly faces leaders of GOP supermajorities whose priorities are to cut income taxes and rein in local property taxes, not to expand Medicaid."

“While passenger rail and then intercity buses used to link up even the smaller towns with the larger cities and out to the rest of the nation, what we are left with is one major airport in the neighboring state of Missouri, one Amtrak train that lumbers through Kansas in the dead of night, a couple buses that may or may not actually be running that day as scheduled, and long stretches of interstate highways.” https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/dec/25/christmastime-can-be-a-sad-reminder-that-many-towns-in-the-us-are-left-behind

Secretary of State Kris Kobach refuses to allow the Johnson County Commissioners to destroy old ballots because of what he says is fraud. The sheriff of that county, who subscribes to the notion that county sheriffs have unchecked power in their county, says he received dozens of allegations of fraud in 2021. These are typical crackpot Republican conspiracy theories. Democrats govern, Republicans complain. https://kansaspublicradio.org/local-news/2023-12-22/headlines-for-friday-december-22-2023

In , studies show that 1,500 people a year die because the GOP continues to block expansion to the state. So much for the Republican Party being pro-life. As a I can say for a fact that there are plenty who do not share this sentiment. https://kansasreflector.com/2023/12/14/pro-life-catholic-leaders-have-helped-block-medicaid-expansion-as-1500-kansans-died/

"Asian Americans, in particular Vietnamese Americans, often feel left out of civic discussions because of language and cultural differences. Nguyen says those of Vietnamese heritage often will support one another in a crisis, but otherwise remain to themselves, and those feelings of isolation are enhanced when people immigrate to the United States."
