“Your privacy is worth rebelling over. Corporations and governments are greedily stripping away our digital privacy. It's not just about data; it's about power, control, and our fundamental rights. It's time to say 'No More' to data breaches, surveillance, and the casual trading of our personal lives.”

Short video by #jackrhysider, host of #darknetdiaries – which I recommend 🖤

Fascinating about ruthless criminals trying to steal someone's valuable handle: https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/97/

And a completely unrelated story: ", now X, took over the @x handle without warning or compensating its owner". Or should I say "@x? https://techcrunch.com/2023/07/26/twitter-now-x-took-over-the-x-handle-without-warning-or-compensating-its-owner/

It looks like it's true that Kevin Mitnick has died of pancreatic cancer. He was most know as a "famous hacker."

I read his book "Ghost in the Wires" many years ago, and it's one of those books that sticks with you.

@grammargirl This comes up a lot in the podcast #DarknetDiaries. Two pertinent episodes would be no. 69 Human Hacker and no. 107 Alethe.

Remember last year when we were all reporting on how #Conti had crippled Costa Rica with a #ransomware attack and was suggesting the people overthrow the government to get one in place that would pay them?

What if that was actually what Conti was trying to test on behalf of Russia or other powers — whether they could overthrow a government by crippling it with a massive ransomware attack?

Listen to the newest episode of #DarknetDiaries with @jackrhysider. There is so much many of us didn’t know at the time, including attacks on other countries. The possibilities the episode raises with Omar Avilez, who was involved in analyzing and defending against the attack on the Dominican Republic... well... just go listen or read the transcript.
