I like this shot I took just after sunset on Saturday - my new iPhone does a great job with after-dark photography compared to the previous one (which was five years old).

This sculpture is a tribute to the Great Petition, an enormous scroll of signatures in favour of women's voting rights which was presented to the Victorian Parliament in the 1890s. It's located just behind the Parliament building.

This new place sounds cool (also a bit daggy).

Ten years ago this month the new (now current) rail map draft was released into the wild. It took a few revisions, but eventually it replaced the old (horrible) one.

Really appalling how much public liability insurance has risen for these venues. Could do with a government inquiry into the insurance industry.

I may need to go to hospital and remember being driven back from hospital on other occasions. Does anyone know what these circumstances involve? I can’t remember.
I am sure this happened in the past. Was it ambulance transport?

Local hospitals are saying no they don’t do that so wondering how the eff to get home when can’t stand or sit up long without passing out.

Good to see. Not every CBD building needs to be a bubble tea shop or a cutting-edge restaurant charging $40+ for mains.

The tactiles (including yellow line) at some stations are a shocker. This is Malvern.

Do I use public transport too much if I know which hand dryer at Flinders St station main toilets is the most powerful?

Glad to see Tadao Ando’s M Pavilion might stay in place. It's a very impressive structure, particularly from within.

It is so exciting to get good rain after a couple of hot, dry months. #Melbourne has received 30.4mm of rain since 9am yesterday.

At a restaurant in Chinatown and my Spidey sense that alerts me to a Korean-run Japanese restaurant is tingling. (A situation which I like, you get the best of both worlds.) I think the kimchi-filled gyoza is a giveaway.

Walking along there yesterday I was ready to scoff, but I must admit it won me over. There was a whole shop full of restored record turntables, mmmmm

New at my Patreon... On High Street in Thornbury we noticed a striking old building - a surviving tram depot from the days when the local council ran its own cable tramway:

Spotted Picasso's Weeping Woman the other day at NGV International. If you haven't heard about the sensational 1980s theft of this painting, this SBS TV series is entertaining: https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/news-series/framed
