But you don’t. You want to post about Linux and help people with that and that’s fine. You can’t do it all. Maybe stay in that lane instead of encouraging behavior you know won’t do anything to advance your purported cause. It’s absurd of you to pretend you’re doing something by voting third party. Like, really think about it.

There’s a lot of spectrum concentrated here. I’m on the adhd end and my thinking tends towards connections, allegory, and metaphor and I have a real hard time filtering shit down to something people who think extremely literally will like to read.
For me, everything is connected and anything could be a stand in for anything else. Not the case for a lot of people here.
Someone told me not to ask strangers how their day was (like in the real world) if I didn’t really want to know (like that someone’s dad died) and I just had to put my phone down for the rest of the morning. It’s great experience for learning how to talk to others though overall.
I had a layover in Frankfurt and my bags didn’t make it on the right flight and the German lady was basically like “I don’t know how you could let this happen”. Nice overall but very direct.
See you took what I wrote really literally. Thanks this is helpful. What I meant was saying “how’s it going”, but you took it as I would literally ask “how’s your day going”. Like, I would always use quotes to indicate a specific word usage but you have no way of knowing that.
Also I’d never use the same kind of language or approach to anyone I knew personally. Everyone needs something different. There isn’t a formula to get it right without listening and knowing. How are you doing is how are you feeling where I come from btw. How’s it going is hi. How’s your day is “how’s today no details”.
I spent 12 hours once downloading a limp bizkit song on dial up and it wasn’t even a limp bizkit song. I feel nostalgic for that kind of deception. It feels so quaint.

People do mess with stuff, gotta agree there. Don’t agree that the solution is to not have stuff though. Might as well not have any public space if that’s the attitude.
There’s a technical reason they do this that has been pointed out elsewhere but it has the added benefit of filtering out people who believe they are above the process. Most jobs have processes (safety processes, legal processes, etc.). You can avoid people who aren’t ready to accept they may be exceptional, but are applying for a position that does not require them to be.

If you’ve reversed autocorrect’s decision on something, it will remember it on iPhone. For example, I reversed “Lol” back to “lol” and after that it autocorrected all of them to lower case. You can reverse it I think, it doesn’t affect me much.

Nice work on the ketones testing, that’s very helpful. Being sick raises my sugar levels, and I have to keep on top of hydration. I remember hoping if I got Covid i would have 2 other obvious symptoms because they were leaning pretty hard on the fever as an indicator. I’m glad you’re taking an active role managing it! I got it when I was 17 so I kind of worked things out on my own (because I was a teenager, not because my parents wouldn’t help).
This is great, but I’ve increased output by replacing the windows user with a tech-illiterate person showing a screenshot of Ubuntu saying “I’m so glad my grandson switched me to Linux”.
