One of the schools where I teach is always taking my kids' phones away and it pisses me RIGHT OFF! So I then use my teacher powers to get the phone back because "our lesson today requires it." And then I just forget to take it away again. Stealing children's access to communication is BULLSHIT! I am NOT here to listen to alternative viewpoint thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I didn't know this until just now, but it is apparently international guide dog day today! So… Here is a picture of Phoenix who reminds you to take a little time for self-care because you deserve it!

In other news, nobody stole my credit card, however Instacart did use it to pay my membership fee even though I removed the card from the app 3 freaking years ago. But somehow they still have it? And they informed me of this in the middle of the night long after my fraud charges were filed so I spent this morning calling the bank back! I slept like shit because my brain is a hamster on a 3 day methanphetamine bender. I did exercise, resentfully and am taking my sweaty self into the yard. 😤💪🎾🐾💨🔥

Anybody else ever do that thing where you are so exhausted, and you know you should go to bed, but the process from getting from where you are to your bed seems like a herculean quest! This day has lasted approximately five years! I wish everyone sweet dreams

Not sure how many are interested, but we are doing a group online Earth Day Community Ritual on Sunday.

You can do the ritual provided (I can DM it to you) or one of your own choosing then post pics if you want.

Witches all over the US will be doing rituals on that Sunday (the day before Earth Day, April 22) so it's a great time to lend your energy to the collective cause.

@Bruce_Toews I also have small rituals that I do daily, every morning, I light an offering of incense to my Goddesses, I fix my coffee, thinking about each thing I pour into my mug and what it represents and I think about bringing those things into my life, cinnamon for abundance, Cream for richness, coffee for awareness and clarity. I pull a tarot card and meditate on its theme as I exercise and move my body. These are small but again mindful, intensional, and goal focused

Today's theme is "I DON'T WANNA!" Not any of it! I am aware that I have a bad attitude. I am trying hard to change this but god damn! deep breath 😮‍💨😤

For people with a Roku, I serve a family, and there is a member who is deafblind, and they would like to watch movies together, does anyone know if those things can be used with a braille display or if they have a screen reader? I am extremely ignorant about this stuff and I am going to do research but I figured I would ask the mastodon hive mind! I use my iPhone and braille display to watch shows on Apple TV but that's the only way I know how to do it, I can also use Prime Video and Hulu.

@baxaphobia If you can't bedazzle 'em with brilliance; baffle 'em with bullshit! I'll be fine, I'm just very annoyed.

lynnskyi, to books

On a more cheerful note, yesterday, I decided to reread the Wilderness books by sara Donati. There are nine in total, counting the later Waverly Place books. Of those, I've read five, so I'm beginning at the beginning and will read them in order, this time.

Also I'm reading a second book by Brianna Madia called "Never Leave the Dogs Behind." It's quite a sad book, but I read her first book, and this is a follow-up to that.

Pawpower,
@Pawpower@mastodon.social avatar

@lynnskyi Oh yay! I'm going to start the wilderness books after I finish "The Sweet Blue Distance." I'm about 90% done since yesterday basically involved me reading, cooking and throwing the ball so I'm hoping today will be same.

A huge salad and a veggie rice for a simple dinner.

Pawpower,
@Pawpower@mastodon.social avatar

@lynnskyi @ppatel My only problem with rice is that for some reason it makes me sleepy. Bread, doesn't doe this but pasta sometimes does where I eat it and for about 2 hours I am just lethargic and want a nap. So I need to be mindful about when I eat thee things. But salad is my favorite workday breakfast.

Pawpower,
@Pawpower@mastodon.social avatar

@ppatel @lynnskyi Yeah I mix a lot of different veg in with mine and use mostly jasmine rice. I should try other kinds. Beans and I are not friends and I need to be very careful about how often and how much of them I eat. I did get a rice cooker though with a steam basket on top for veggies and that has been amazing and makes things so easy.

I've played the game on other people's timelines but I decided I would play it with my followers today, so... I'll send 3 pictures, it's your job to guess what I'm making for dinner tonight at the Bitches' kitchen. Here is your first clue.

@MsHearthWitch You are the winner.

I learned the print alphabet by using a toddler's toy with raised print letters to do it. I still don't think I have good handwriting though. I much prefer Braille. Much more simple.

Pawpower,
@Pawpower@mastodon.social avatar

@gocu54 I remember the shape, but not their orientation, so when I write in print about 1/3 of the letters aren't oriented correctly haha.

We're home, Callisto has 5 stitches she is pissed and ignoring me completely except for picking the ball up in her mouth and throwing it at me so it hits me. Such a little asshole! Got her settled in her crate with a small amount of ground turkey and an egg. Stitches come out in 10 days. We should have the pathology on the mass by then. He said it was good we took it out it looked, to him, like it was going to keep growing. I am now going to go practice some better living through chemicals.

Confession time... I have a black thumb. Also gardening is kind of scary because I can't see if the dirt I'm about to put my hands into has bugs in it that are going to bite/sting/whatever. But also I really want to try container gardening again.Maybe mint? Any good other useful plants that like containers and that are hearty enough to stand my fumbling attempts at green witchery? I'm thinking about planting a container garden for Beltane so I need to start planning for it.

Pawpower,
@Pawpower@mastodon.social avatar

@ppatel I do know the mint needs its own space or it will take over everything.

Pawpower,
@Pawpower@mastodon.social avatar

@Pierrette Really? I love the smell of tomato plants! I had a foster dog who used to go outside into the garden of the house we were living in at the time and pick tomatoes right off the vine and eat them. I always knew when she did this because her whole face smelled like the plants.

Pawpower,
@Pawpower@mastodon.social avatar

@ppatel Orange and chocolate mint are both so good.

I got a notification that the rain was stopping so I figured I should seize the day and let the dogs out because Phoenix is not thrilled about taking care of business when it is raining. Amusingly enough about a minute after I let them out into the yard my phone started vibrating crazily in my pocket, and I got a weather warning about flash flood warnings, and tornado warnings! Apparently until 1045. so I retrieved the dogs from the yard and we are now taking shelter!
