Slappula,

Blue’s News - Video Gaming, Technology and General Interest. I think it’s been around since the mid 90s.

Slappula,

Why do they make a big deal about Cohen being a felon? He’s a felon because of the same crime that Trump is on trial for right now!

Slappula,

There’s an integration to Open Weather Map. You have to sign up for an API Key, but it’s free. One of the sensors is cloud cover.

Does anyone remember these? This was a time before answering machines, hard line voice mail, beepers, cell phones etc? (lemmy.world)

At a business, a secretary, almost always a woman, would answer the phone for all calls. There were no direct lines into anyone. If you were in she would transfer the call to your office. If you were out she would use this pad to take messages. When you came back in to the office you would always stop at the front desk and you...

Slappula,

My guess would be Mr or Mrs of XYZ Company.

Slappula,

Only because he knew she would track Wilzig!

Slappula,

They used to have a rental program for audiobooks at Cracker Barrel.

Slappula,

The bonk on the head to incapacitate. It always works instantly and has no long term implications.

Slappula,

Dig through the ditches and burn through the witches. I slam in the back of my Dragula.

Slappula,

I had a Commodore 64 as a kid but we couldn’t afford the disk drive (it was as much as the computer). I had to settle for a cassette drive. About 15 years later, I was at a garage sale and saw a C64 with disk drive but no cords. I asked the seller if it still worked. He said “For a dollar, does it matter?”. Still have them.

Slappula,

I’ve played and enjoyed most of the Quantic Dream games. This is the one where it feels like they finally perfected the formula. Thanks for the reminder - I need to put this on my replay list.

Slappula,

It doesn’t show up on Usenet. It seems to be displaying results for some other (more modern) show. If you don’t mind some ads, it’s on Pluto.

Slappula,

Except for the occasional Lemmy break.

Slappula,

Nooooo!

I love PB games! They can be janky but they all have heart and obvious care.

Has anyone tried the stadia controller via Bluetooth on PC?

I use a dual shock 4 via Bluetooth on my PC (Windows) and I’m tired about the workarounds required to have it working all the time. Sometimes it needs steam open, sometimes instead having steam open will confuse the game, and so on. And by default the light is off when connected so I never know if it’s o, off, low battery. I...

Slappula,

The most reliable that I’ve found is an Xbox controller connected via the Wireless Xbox Adapter. I’m not sure they make it anymore though. You will probably have to buy a used one (if interested).

Slappula,

My experience with the Bluetooth on PC is that it was a bit flakey. That may have improved in the last few years though. I ran into a couple of games where it wouldn’t work on BT but worked fine via the wireless adapter.

DeepSouth (www.westernsydney.edu.au)

A supercomputer capable of mimicking the human brain is set to be activated in 2024. The DeepSouth system, developed by researchers at the International Centre for Neuromorphic Systems, uses spiking neural networks to efficiently emulate large networks of neurons, rivaling the rate of operations in the human brain. This...

Slappula,

I’m from the Deep South, so I can say this - the name scares me!

Senate Republican says US needs to accept Ukraine will ‘cede some territory’ to Russia (thehill.com)

Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) said Sunday that the United States needs to accept that Ukraine will likely need to “cede some territory” to Russia to end the fighting. Vance told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” that he is opposed to sending more aid to Ukraine because he does not believe the country will ever be able...

Slappula,

Thanks Neville Chamberlain!

Slappula,

Good info! I realize that blaming Neville is an oversimplification. It’s just funny to me that all the conservative ‘historians’ I know would be quick to throw Neville under the bus, but the current-day Republicans get a pass.

Slappula,

I believe SpaceInvaderOne is considered one of the best at explaining the setup:
