I love valheim but there are things that keep me from putting serious time into it that i just cant figure out. Its probably a bunch of little nitpicky things. Mods help for sure with that. Saying that i have about 70 hours in enshrouded and am about 2/3 “complete”. And am loving every minute. Its gets out of its own way and pretty much lets you do what you want. Im an old fart gamer and prefer a slower casual pace in this genre. Enshrouded ticks that for me
I’m hoping to find some kind of statistical display for my media library that I can show on my website. I found Medialytics, which is a little rough, but essentially what I’m looking for, but it isn’t secure enough for public display because the Plex token is included in the script for the page....
Im curious how updates will go once the new game is out. Would love if they released a “server lite” so you can play offline once they consider it done.

100% this. Long long time portainer user. With multiple upgrade failures where it would not move my container setup forward i moved to dockge after it got remote system support. The difference in simplicity is night and day.
Lately, I was going through the blog of a math professor I took at a community college back when I was in high school. Having gone the path I did in life, I took a look at what his credentials were, and found that he completed a computer science degree back sometime in the 1970s. He had a curmudgeonly and standoffish...
Being a self taught programmer (6502 assembly on a vic-20) All my first few jobs were basically here are the manual you’re the new (banyan vines, netware, sunos, oracle, sql server etc) expert.
My son got a infosys degree and all his jobs required additional certs. Helpng him navigate that was mind numbing
What i will say. Develop your network full stop. I got every single good fit job by references. All my shit jobs were headhunters or cold applications.
As far as tech goes. Everything is so nuanced and dependant today i feel it make everything overly complicated and harder to baseline and run. Let alone debugging.
I am sooo glad i just retired (early) and dont have the need to delve into current tech for anything now besides hobby stuff.

On July 25, 2023, the states of Missouri, Arkansas, and Iowa, along with intervenors American Water Works Association and National Rural Water Association, petitioned the Eighth Circuit to review the EPA’s new rule. Well i think its a little of both. Technically i think epa overstepped its authority, but CISA is the exact place it should come from. Ideally any agency like this would work with CISA who has the mandate. Its certainly complicated when you get into an agency “making law” and theres a case in front of the supreme court now that could disrupt all of that.
My new overnight job unfortunately comes with a mandatory 1-hour lunch break (sitting destroys my back, and I’d also rather be earning money if I have to be there anyway), so I end up looking at random shit on my phone. Hi guys! I think I’m over Joplin. Don’t get me wrong, it’s simple, it works, but… why is it Postgres db…. I have the server on a small box with like 250 GB of space and backing it up with kopia to Backblaze with free 10 GB, so I’m a bit storage cautious....
Joplin server also will use a file based storage instead of the db. And db then is only used for users
I use joplin as i share notes and collaborate with my wife. Obsidian etc dont do that. Id love to be on obsidian as i really like it but sharing notebooks is mandatory
I don’t do much handheld gaming, but I’m going to have some overseas flights and long-ish train rides later this year, and may also be having surgery that will keep me fairly bedbound for about a month. Its really what you can afford. Replacing the ssd with a bigger one is trivial if you are even remotely handy. So the real question is the screen.
Oled is amazingly better than the lcd ( i have both)
Battery life in oled is a bigger deal than i thought.
For me the antiglare screen was a big improvement aseell. My led disnt have it and my oled does. I can play in alot more sifferent liighting with less eyestrain. Some brighter places the led just wasnt acceptable to play. Ive had no issues with led and antiglare
So if its in budget get the top end oled. Else look for the 512 led with anti glare
Like the title implies, I’m looking for a way to keep track of places I go. If the ratings system doesn’t exist, that’s okay. The important part is keeping track of places I’ve been, on what date and how often. I know this could be done with a spreadsheet, but that’s sounds like work, and I’m lazy. I couldn’t find...
Ios or android? If ios look at an app called things. Nice collector app (db) thats what id look for is a nice little freeform db app for my phone thats exportable
