dragoness,

Yes I know how to drive a manual, I learned many years ago. I’m from the US and I’m 42.

Learned on an old beat up truck when I was like 20, I remember I got stuck stalling out on the highway once, I don’t even remember how. I freaked out so bad. 8 years ago I had 2012 Mazdaspeed 3. I miss that car so so much.

dragoness,

I specifically used it as an agro tool also 😭

dragoness,

“suffering a bit less”. Wow. Just unimaginable.

Truck purchases are driving up the average cost of car payments. Some buyers pay over $1,000 a month (www.nbcnews.com)

More than 1 in 4 car shoppers in Texas and Wyoming have committed to paying more than $1,000 a month, and experts say it is due to the high volume of large truck purchases in those states, according to a report by auto site Edmunds....

dragoness,

I lived in snowy af Ohio for 8 years with a Kia Sephia. I was poorer than now then and couldn’t afford snow tires yet I made it just fine. I’d always see trucks and SUVs driving crazy fast down the highway, and saw 2 crash right in front of me.

I’m with you, people do not need SUVs for the snow.

dragoness,

I hated this too and I saw on a YT video that if anybody says anything about a trap you can right click the mouse and the entire party will stop moving instantly. It’s not a great solution but it has helped immensely after I learned about it.

dragoness,

Yea I had an instance of this as well. “I totally agree to do this evil thing in your place, leave it up to me guys go have a drink on me” was a lie. I couldn’t make up the disapproval from 2 other party members even when I saved the person afterwards.

dragoness,

You know what that’s probably correct. I will look out for that going forward.

dragoness,

I love that this has become the hatchback and Yaris love thread. As a GTI owner it makes me happy. I do not want nor need to go any bigger. It’s almost the perfect car.

dragoness,

So wait. I am transporting one person, not taking up much space, obeying the rules of the road, don’t have loud pipes nor speed, and you’re telling me I’m selfish? When you literally just said you don’t care about our pleasure?

I don’t think it’s us thats the selfish one here.

dragoness,

If you have 20 kids and a great Dane I guess you’re right. If you have 2 kids and a dog that’s on you.

dragoness,

So the fact that this person clearly has researched said subject enough to get a degree in it to know what they’re talking about vs some dude who is quite possibly pulling bullshit out his ass doesn’t allow for said learned person to tell said non-learned person they are an idiot?

Because sometimes I think it kinda does.

dragoness,

At risk of angering the vast majority of the fuck cars community, it’s generally because I live 30 minutes from my job by highway, and can’t afford to live within walking distance. And they won’t let us telework. I really really want to actually live close enough to bike.

dragoness,

Wow what a memory unlock. I remember when we got tree, I used to run around as a tree and stand in Org telling people I was doing tree things.

dragoness,

This made me think of Howard the Duck the movie and now I’m upset that I made the link between the two. I’m going to have to watch the movie again to clear my mind of such atrocity.

dragoness,

Someone needs to remake r/outside over here. I miss that.

dragoness,

Backwoods Virginian and that’s what we called it.

How is it even possible/practical to obey traffic laws?

I’m talking specifically about obeying the speed limit, doing a full stop at stop signs, etc. After receiving a speeding ticket for doing 53 in a 50, As an experiment I went a full day obeying all traffic laws 100% and it caused so much road rage. For example, there is a 2 lane road near me with a speed limit of 50 (where I...

dragoness,

The Fuck Cars community is so prevalent over here on Lemmy it’s crazy. I wonder why that is.

Btw you guys do you, no hate or whatever I just see this sentiment everywhere on other people’s posts.

What's a 'dirty word' that you hate hearing when it's used to describe something or someone?

I hate the word ‘Consumer’ or I mockingly call it ‘CONSOOMER’. Because that’s to imply everyone in the world is just cattle, but with wallets. We’re no longer customers. We’re consumers now. And a consumer’s purpose is to consume shit, whatever is put out there. Got money? Shut up and consume, it’s what...

dragoness,

You represent your username nicely here and I agree with your sentiment.

dragoness,

I have never known this was also for ice and now I must try. Thank you!

dragoness,

I do hate that, and some NPCs seem to be able to knock me clear across the room off a cliff but none of my characters seem to be able to do more than push them back half a step.
