232: Lode Runner (1983)

This game took quite the journey to the Apple II, starting on the Commodore PET and being developed on university campus machines. By the time Doug Smith refined it for home play, it was a timeless platform puzzler with superb mechanics and limitless longevity by way of a level designer. It’s had many variations since – but single-screen efforts remain the best.

The gaming of us never ends. Threads ensures that an empty search and other unspecified filters always pushes celebrity accounts. Exactly the behavior we should be moving away from. Diversity matters. Celebrity doesn’t. On the upside, anything that helps pillage ExTwitter is a good thing.

Someone asked me what I think is going on with Trump's lawyers attacking the clerk.

Yesterday I said this:

"It's hard to tell what is going on with that. My best guess is that Trump's lawyers are fatigued, know they are losing, and are getting weird and paranoid."

Judge Engoron, who sees it all up close, said there is misogyny.

I just saw a picture of the clerk and I have revised my opinion.

The judge may be right . . .

@Teri_Kanefield Also, the lawyer's defence against misogyny was something like 'he had a wife and a daughter' so he can't be, though that's the kind of argument of possession that a misogynyst would fall back on.

Why doesn't Apple make a TV? They would own that space. Half the people I know would happily buy one, if it meant no spyware, user choice, and never buying another "smart" TV again. Even if the cost was 2x normal smart tv.

    Judge Kelly is talking now, in the case, prior to his sentencing.

    Thing is, he always starts out with such condemnation, then disappoints us with the number of years in the sentence.

    Partial set of Susan Kare’s Macintosh Classic OS bitmap icons. She had no experience with computer graphics so she referenced her work with mosaics, needlepoint, and pointillism. They were hand-drawn on graphing paper before being digitized.
