Xbox 360 - Falcon Kronos JTAG

This Falcon revision console had the red ring of death and was left for dead. It was in fantastic shape otherwise with even the warranty sticker intact. Tearing it down and dumping the NAND revealed it was a JTAG-able console - definitely worth saving.

The E74 error is indicative of a fault with the GPU-EDRAM die communication. It's an early Rhea GPU which is a known unreliable variant, surprise. The only permanent fix is to replace the GPU with a reliable one. Thanks to a guide made by Octal450, there's a procedure that can be followed to retrofit a much later, reliable revision of the GPU onto this board known as the Kronos.

After baking the board and new GPU to get out all the moisture, I popped it into my BGA machine, pulled off the old GPU, cleaned everything up, and dropped on the NOS Kronos. I followed Octal's guide to modify some configuration resistors, added the AUD_CLAMP wiring for the JTAG hack, wrote the NAND, and tada!

As far as the console is concerned it's now a Jasper revision. It's a JTAG sporting Xell and Freeboot so it can run homebrew, emulators, etc.
