I have never seen something awful, aside from.perhaps a Trump speech.

Bearing witness to human atrocity is a duty IMO. If thats what you mean?

Is this guerrilla marketing for some sort of Stargate reboot? Bring it on I say!

Well, as an Australian I’d hope they’d not come here either, happy to have refugees and help then out as much as possible but not Americans.

As to brain drain, you come from a country that’s destroying the planet, acts like a spoiled child when it doesn’t get it’s way, (look at the reaction to the ICC arrest warrants for Israel) you’ve created a monster that has little to admire, the “brains” that created all that will hopefully stay there.

This is a country that has threatened to invade the Hague if any US person or allly is indicted by the ICC for example. Churlish doesn’t even begin to describe it, stay there.

Only in the same way that Coke and Pepsi are differnt

As Orwell pointed out way back then, they’re both sides of the neo liberal coin.

If you want Tory vote Tory or Labour, if you want chnage Vote Green.

Nothing chnages if voters don’t

The delay currently means that activities are taking around 7 days to reach aussie.zone.

That’s some mega lag !

I have a couple accounts, one on Lemmy.world so I’ll stay away from that.

Cheers for the work and the info.

Its always bemusing/upsetting that people would Vote LNP. I have no idea why when their polices are based on hate and hurt and and magical thinking yet their toxicity is so poular they’ve pulled Labor to their toxoc neo liberal way way of doing things .

All around us is complete policy failure (education, health, housing, Climate, environment, tranport etc) over 40-50 years and yet this is rewarded by voters ?

From what I remember, it’s always been this way, I say always as in the Reddit version had the same behavior from memory ?

Each paragraph needs a “>” character for markdown not each line per se.

Weird anectode, we used to have 50 acres behind Coffs Harbour (48 acres of bush), when we had excess we’d sell some to the local organic wholesaler. She inisited it was perfect or customers wouldn’t buy it. I was kind of bemused because the only way it’s getting that way in any volume is pesticides.

Another anecdote, we had all sorts of different fruit but they onky wanted the same fruit you get supermarkets, as that was all that sold (apple, bananas, mandarins and oranges…we only had the latter two)

Certainly in Australia they do

smh.com.au/…/governments-spent-20-5b-on-first-hom…

Australian governments spent more than $20.5 billion on first home buyer help in the past decade, which made housing affordability worse by driving up property prices and left existing homeowners richer, new research found.

I was there once. It was hot and muggy and generally unpleasant.

Seems a fair summary.

Gold Coast (east of the M1 at least) has the beaches and rainforest in the mountains to at least.compensate. I lived and owns an apartment on the ocean there for a few years, as I couldn’t afford NZ, lots of Kiwi’s there as well.

So even if it was said outside of parliamentary privilege, Winston could just say it’s his opinion

Not sure it works that way, you have to assert it’s your opion when you say it.
