Ich teste gerade den #VM-Manager von #synology. Weil HomeAssistant nur sinnvoll in einer VM läuft und nicht als Docker. Spanennd was die da alles so einbauen... ih bin begeistert ;)

@parigotmanchot Plus de bouton car plastique devenu cassant...Mais je ne désespère pas d'en faire quelque chose en bricolant un interrupteur et en le laissant en interne de toute façon car limité à DS4
@cheziceman Apparemment même DSM 5.2, sachant que la dernière et la 7.2 😅 mais clairement du deux baies ça permet du miroir et du backup, et avec de la chance tu dois pouvoir faire du docker (beaucoup de chance) donc avoir des trucs qui tournent en récent.
Après, la durée de vie moyenne des produits semblent bien longue donc c'est pas mal, même si je trouve ça un poil cher au global. Le DS en 5 baies, c'est 900 € ! Et tu rajoutes 5 disques HDD et 2 NVME (et tu peux monter la RAM et 10 Go/s rézo)

Although I've been using linux and hosting websites on external servers for many years I'm a late comer to the home server network. Probably a good solution for storing and backup of images amongst many other things. My Synology NAS drive arrives in the next few days and I then can start "messing" :sablobsmilehappy: Any starter tips?

C’est toujours la qualité les #NAS#synology et tout l’écosystème autour ou bien ça a été retourné par un concurrent ?
J’ai déjà un vieux Syno DS213j dont je suis très satisfait au demeurant mais qui mériterait la retraite (10 ans déjà et ça se sent) et je regarde pour faire une mis à jour en lorgnant notamment sur le DS223 ou DS224+
@GoOz j'essaie de remplacer Dropbox et Google Drive pour mes usages perso.
Mais bon, en ce moment ça peut pas marcher quand je suis hors de chez moi, j'ai dû passer sur une box 5G faute de bon ADSL ou fibre et ça marche que dans un sens.
I was chosen as beta tester for new #NAS hardware! This is gonna be exciting. Let's see if #Synology & #QNAP has a new competitor worth anything...
BTW: They're sending the unit, but no drives. Weird. You think they'd want to control the entire experience in a beta. Ya' know, so everyone is using the same brand, size, etc...
Got a #Synology NAS recently, still getting the thing set up in my spare time, but it's neat so far. One thing I'm a little baffled by though: no full-disk encryption! This seems like a pretty basic feature in 2024, very surprised that they don't have it. In fact, I bought one of the "budget" models and it seems like there's no native option to encrypt folders at all.
Full review of the #synology#BeeStation coming in a few days! Waiting for the new update to be picked up by the device itself as it should fix certain pending issues and bugs.
Do you see yourself as a BeeStation user? If you are not sure, hopefully the upcoming lengthy review will answer some questions and help you decide.
@tekphloyd The video makes it look quite nice, and $199 is kinda of a killer price for it, but…it’s not out until March? The URL in their video redirects to their BeeDrive product. Very weird.
