Alk,

Not originally. It was a trade show.

Alk,

Can someone explain why to a layman? Don’t they make graphics cards? I have one and it’s fine, but what else is making it so valuable?

Treated ADHD and remaining symptoms: your experience? (lemmy.world)

I’d like to know from anyone who is treated satisfactorily whether they have any symptoms that persist and resist treatment, and if so, which ones. Ideally, I’d like to collect enough data to produce some sort of statistics (not scientific, of course). Feel free to use any format and language you like....

Alk,

I am mostly treated but my ability to pay attention (not the length of my attention span, but the fragility of it I guess) is not fully “normal”. It’s still night and day when I don’t taken my pill though.

Sidennote, I instantly become better at ALL genres of video games when on my pill. Which is a nice little side effect.

Edit: incidentally I haven’t taken the pill yet today and im on my phone so I do not have the ability or desire to follow that template haha.

Alk,

One of my favorite series of Menes.

Alk,

There is! I play it all the time with my friends and its some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a video game. The other day we hijacked some guy’s space yacht and flew it to deep space, I left the ship with my friend while we brought our huge salvage ship over and scraped off all the metal from the ship, then chewed it up with the mounted claw/grinder. The whole process took 3 people 2 hours and it was so much fun.

It’s not for everyone and may very well never release. But I’ve been waiting for a game like this for years and I can’t get enough of it. The immersion is insane.

Alk,

It depends on when you last played it. A few updates ago they improved performance a ton, but its still rough sometimes, especially if you have 16gb or less RAM.

Alk,

Listen, if you don’t want your multi million dollar space yacht stolen, don’t leave it unlocked and unattended at a space station. This was a valuable lesson for someone. (Real talk though, I am not even sure where the owner was, they may have even logged off with their ship sitting outside the station)

Alk,

It was a player. They can insurance claim it and be back in it before I was even done scrapping it most likely. Or they might have been able to track it down and attack me to get it back, and I wouldn’t have been able to defend myself in the scrapping ship which is basically a big space barge not made for combat, which would have been cool as hell.

Alk,

Please post the original YouTube link and let users automatically redirect to their frontend of choice, thank you.

Alk,

That’s the spirit. All conflict in the world can be resolved by the crushing and inescapable weight of adult responsibilities.

Alk,

I used to read more, but then video games became capable of telling captivating stories and writers and artists could share their ideas and visions directly with people in a way never possible before, and often more intimately and thoroughly than before. I’m not after the experience of reading a book, I’m after the experience of experiencing other peoples’ perspectives, feelings, experiences and art. And there are mediums other than written word that do that for me. In the past, there simply wasn’t enough content for other mediums to take the place of reading completely for those things.

Alk,

It’s not trying to be impressive, just historical. All knowyourmeme pages are like that.

Alk,

If you’re on desktop, check out freetube instead of the buggy mess that is piped links.

Alk,

Yeah google maps is still the GOAT as much as I wish it wasn’t.

Alk,

Freetube is not a website, but a desktop application that massively improves the usability over YouTube’s UX. It doesn’t serve the same purpose as an ad blocker, which also works well for its purpose.

Alk,

Yeah in that case I agree. Tons of people have their preferred YouTube frontend, or application, or way of using YouTube itself, and we can all get YouTube links to automatically redirect to our preferred method, but if someone links their preferred frontend directly, anyone who uses a different method all of a sudden can’t use it automatically.

Alk,

More than that, it does all sorts of things that also had to be worked around.

Alk,

I use kagi, it’s very good.

Alk,

It’s disingenuous to say there’s no point in striving for privacy if you’re not going to go completely off grid. There are always better and worse options.

Alk,

It depends on what you’re trying to be private from. Kagi has been good to me so far, my goal is mainly to escape from corporate/ad profile tracking.

Alk,

Same. I work and play at my computer, so I certainly get my use out of it. I wouldn’t pay for it if both my work and my hobbies weren’t both on my PC.

Alk,

I haven’t touched the ai feature, I’m glad its separate and not forced into search, but I’m also glad people seem to be getting good use out of it. Best of both worlds.

Alk,

Being generous with this actual estimate, there’s like 22 of them.
