Tobacco companies had to own up to the fact that smoking is harmful in the 1960s when undeniable evidence came out. People struggled to quit because it is somewhat addictive, but mainly because they enjoyed it....
Everything’s different for everyone. Which may partially be the point you’re making. But generally anything other then oxygen in your lungs is bad for you.
Everything in life is basically dumbed down and generalized till it’s stupidly black and white, which breeds a distrust for x group or idea.
Nobody wants to show the broad spectrum. Nobody wants to understand the reality of everything goes infinitely in both directions. It makes life scary and unpredictable. Unknowing is fear and anxiety if you don’t learn to accept reality.
This is kind of the base paradox of chaos and faith. If God is the universe and everything, and God is “right”, then that makes good and evil equal. It’s a paradox people don’t think of when it comes to sovereignty and freedom. Both those things mean you would need to fight for survival, in turn one could not be “free” by modern governing terms. You get your “freedom” but that means you aren’t going to have the military killing for you or your subsidized help. True freedom is not utopia. True freedom is a life of war and survival.
I feel bad for him. He got played out so hard trying to play the American game. Like I think he was naive and didn’t understand how fucked life actually is and the fact nothing will ever be great or secure or actually be in “order”.
Believing there can be order and security in life is like thinking you can stop the weather for happening.
I never said I agree with him or support him. I respect humanity and the infinite experiences of humanity. I feel bad he was, at some point, misled to believe his beliefs and act on them.
Open thoughts… But I feel like it’s dumb to equate every “fascist” to Hitler and use Hitler and WW2 imagery. I feel like it dumbs things down.
If you believe Trump or whoever is a fascist their actions and their own image is enough. People aren’t going to think differently because X is portrayed as Hitler. It seems like gimmicky propaganda to do that. Anyone you would ever want on “your side” would understand this. As result people disregard both “sides”. Do you want people to switch to your side because of social political marketing or because they are actually cognitive enough to have a real understanding of life and reality? Imo it seems like a way to get useless people to join your side out of emotion. In turn dumbing down your side to emotionally reactive people. Marketing doesn’t get you a base that cares, it gets you a following.
I suppose that’s fine in war if you want cannon fodder to use… But that also sounds like something an anti fascist wouldn’t want.
In modern politics it’s like it’s an art to build the biggest base of useless people to abuse for cannon fodder.
A product you were just talking about pops up in an online ad. How? Advertising algorithms are so good that they may know what you want even before you do. C...
For some reason I’ve just never liked Spider-Man. He comes off as a whiney, ignorant child that never seems to grow up or mature despite everything he goes through. I love a good coming of age story, but he just never seems to become an adult.
