FiendishFork,

The No Labels ticket will only help Trump. Manchin needs to just retire.

ACC Considering adding Cal, Stanford, and SMU

ACC considering adding Cal, Stanford & SMU or just Cal & Stanford, sources told @ActionNetworkHQ. 1st report by @RossDellenger. SMU has a $10 million exit fee to leave AAC w/less than 27 months notice so that number could double. In May, ACC source told @ActionNetworkHQ league had no interest in expanding. “We already have too...

FiendishFork,

I thought that might be the case as well but I’ve seen some people saying maybe not. Also don’t think the ACC would be looking to add if it opened current members up to leave.

FiendishFork,

How often do you have to change yours? I got mine on launch and have only had to change the battery one time.

FiendishFork,

I like Googles design language for their pixels, instead of a giant bump they made it into a visor.

FiendishFork,

A price increase is bound to happen at some point, the X came out 6 years ago at $999, that’s a pretty long time to keep a price point.

FiendishFork,

When you sync to your NAS do Live Photos sync properly?

Report: Apple working on new external display for Macs that can double as a smart home display in low-power mode (9to5mac.com)

Between this and the iOS 17 standby feature, it seems like Apple likes the idea of displays showing information instead of just being black. Not really sure why they wouldn’t just make this a macOS feature though, dumb to limit this to some sort of smart monitor instead of just using the computer it is connected to.

FiendishFork,

I want that too! “Apple Hub” type thing to be the center of the smart home. Unfortunately I assume that combining Apple TV, HomePod and router would be too niche (and expensive for consumers) for Apple to actually make.

FiendishFork,

The current studio display already has the A13, I’d expect all future monitors to come with with iPhone SoC.

FiendishFork,

I really liked the book, Hoid narration was fun and very different from Tress, and we got some time with Design!

FiendishFork,

Thank you, this has to be one of the more annoying Reddit conspiracy theories, especially because every year multiple posts with clickbait titles would hit the front page.

Toyota's Solid-State Batteries Will Offer Over 900 Miles On A Single Charge (www.topspeed.com)

When the solid-state batteries are released in 2027 or 2028, Toyota says the batteries will give their EVs an impressive 745 miles of range, surpassing the record-setting Lucid Air's 520-mile range. Additionally, Toyota's technology will be able to reduce charging times down to only 10 minutes....

FiendishFork,

I think it’s more likely they’ll use this tech to produce vehicles with physically smaller batteries that can get 400-500 miles of range.

I don’t think the majority of people are in search of something that can go 800 miles without stopping.

FiendishFork,

That kind of work environment is unsurprising given he idolizes Musks Twitter. From what I have heard, in general Musks companies are known to be horrible to work for.

FiendishFork,

Periscope camera for higher zoom, moving to titanium instead of stainless steel metal will save weight, and the mute switch is supposed to become a button that might be customizable to control more than just silence which would be nice since I only ever keep mute switch on silence.

FiendishFork,

I got the battery on my iPhone 8 replaced so I could hold out for 15.

FiendishFork,

So I’m one year behind you, It would definitely be hard for me to wait another year for the 16 if the 15 didn’t have USB C. Hopefully I won’t be forced to make that decision.

FiendishFork,

I haven’t listened to the traditional audiobooks but listened to the graphic audio versions and have really enjoyed it. My wife and I listened to Warbreaker and she liked it a lot. It seems graphic audio can be pretty polarizing but the full cast of voice actors makes it enjoyable for us.

Definitely fun listening together, it can be hard discussing when I already know what happens especially when a theory is mostly right and I want to elaborate but can’t because I don’t want to give anything away.

FiendishFork,

I’m currently using Memmy and it’s pretty good for how early in development it is.

There’s also another app called Artemis that’s in development that’s heavily inspired by Apollo. Still in alpha and they not yet open for testing.

Why would Reddit push users away from their app shortly before announcing API changes?

I can’t wrap my head around this, it seems so bizarre. The only reason I’m here now is because I joined Apollo right after Reddit changed its app to remove the sort by rising feature. It completely changed my experience on the app for the worse and I sought out an alternative, and I know I’m not the only one that had this...

FiendishFork, (edited )

I don’t think there was a whole lot of forethought other than “third party app users would make us more money if they switched over to the official app”

I don’t get the sense that there was even clear communication within Reddit administration itself given they were assuring devs that they would work with devs and it would be affordable initially.

FiendishFork,

It is unfortunate how deep anti nuclear sentiment goes with many people. Modern and future reactors are so different from old designs
