Considering they’re basically catcalling each other…

Meh.

Could be easily done with crypto and browser wallets.

No need for the government to come in and offer its “solutions”.

But no thank you on the micro transactions

Erdogan: Netanyahu is a ‘psychopath’ and a ‘vampire that feeds on blood’ (www.timesofisrael.com)

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lashes out at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him a “psychopath” and a “vampire that feeds on blood,” following Israeli airstrikes on the southern Gaza city of Rafah that triggered a deadly fire in a camp for displaced people.

Sometimes, a “reasonable accommodation” is to let them quit.

It cracks me up though. they accomodated him. Put him at a station that didn’t have a flag. then he went and removed the 3 other flags that were simply in view…

dude probably hates himself more.

There have always been gay people, and in every culture, though. While trans is a relatively modern concept, there have definitely been gender-variant people across cultures too.

The fact that it’s been vaguely mentioned at all in the Bible suggests it was a non-issue. Romans, for example, social advancement revolved around patronage… which involved gay sex.

I assume if they have a verdict it’s guilty. Could be wrong.

Edit: update convicted on all 34 counts. From the article’s update:

Mr. Trump was convicted on all 34 counts of falsifying business recordsby a jury of 12 New Yorkers, who deliberated over two days to reach a decision in a case rife with descriptions of secret deals, tabloid scandal and an Oval Office pact with echoes of Watergate. The jury found that Mr. Trump had faked records to conceal the purpose of money given to his onetime fixer, Michael D. Cohen. The false records disguised the payments as ordinary legal expenses when in truth, Mr. Trump was reimbursing Mr. Cohen for a $130,000 hush-money deal the fixer struck with the porn star Stormy Daniels to silence her account of a sexual liaison with Mr. Trump.

But but it’s my justice and I need it now!

(Apparently JG Wentworth is joining the dark side,)

The best news here is that potus can’t make this go away!

It’s doubtful he’ll go to jail ( it’s extremely rare for these kinds of charges,) but he can’t remove the felony conviction.

You know you’re a fucked up asshole when the only union to support you is the cop gangunion.

FTA:

The SEC has been probing Musk’s Twitter stock purchases to determine if he violated a securities law that requires disclosures within 10 days from anyone who buys more than a 5 percent stake in a company. Musk missed that deadline by 11 days, as he amassed close to a 10 percent stake, and a proposed class action lawsuit from Twitter shareholders has suggested that he intentionally missed the deadline to keep Twitter stock prices artificially low while preparing for his Twitter purchase.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

It gets into stock manipulation, and that’s a bit more of an investigation.

Simply missing a deadline is one thing.

Missing the deadline while buying more because that filing would likely trigger a jump in price… is a different thing.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

can’t wait until he gets dinged for not paying it!

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

This is incorrect.

Cohen plead guilty to tax evasion and campaign finance violations

Trump was found guilty of falsifying business records

Not only is the substance of the charge different, Cohen’s crimes were federal where Trump’s conviction is state.

the charges that trump is guilty of, the sentencing very, very rarely includes prison time. (because we live in a fucked up country where you can get away with anything as long as you’re a business.)

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

Yes. And he’s not the first to run a campaign from prison (though he likely won’t go to prison for the 34 felonies. Prison is extremely rare for those kinds of charges. even if he wasn’t trump.)

Say what you want, but the school parties are lit.

In reality, these assholes might be all for it until the cult starts talking about that pesky consent thing.

Time to insist on the cult of Dionysus getting a say.

Pretty sure the hearing wasn’t about asking for an adjournment, and the public defender tried to end the hearing by asking for an adjournment because her client was a dumbass.

I assume he was there to get a summary ruling on the misdemeanor- or maybe try and convince the judge to let it be a fine or something.

Which the judge ignored, because he ain’t stupid either.

Edit- it was just a misdemeanor, unless he hurt someone while driving. So it would have been a max of 93 days and/or max of 500 bucks. Almost certainly less than that- and at least here, it’s a “pay this standard fine or you can go to jail.” (I’m not in Michigan, mind,)

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

Actually, I’m thinking that face is the “what? It’s not a big deal” expression people have when they think they’re entitled and they just found out they’re not.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

And hide that glorious wallpaper? Pfffft

(Actually kind a jealous. I’m boring. My background is straight black. Mostly on account of icons and readability.) (okay, so I grew up in the 90’s wallpapers aren’t supposed to be fun.)

Texas got hit with power outages again, caused by entirely predictable storms affecting outdated and shitty infrastructure. TX dems should adopt “let’s keep the lights on” as a slogan.

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

And the first rule of court is “don’t piss off the judge.”

This is why.

FuglyDuck, (edited )
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

I feel like this isn’t the “oh shit im an idiot” face so much as the face of a person finding out they’re not as entitled as they think they are.

People who think they’re entitled are super annoying to deal with. I feel bad for pda. (And would absolutely love to listen to that phone call)

Edit: I looked it up. It was probably a misdemeanor the first time. (93 days in jail and/or $500 fine,)

So it was entirely possible that the dude could have gotten off with a fine or maybe probation. But nope. He stacked another and is going to jail.

Better to form a union and buy your own.

Otherwise the manager is getting anchovies with artichoke.
