I just finished an Ottoman documentary on Mehmed the conqueror. I learned a few things about his battle with Vlad the Impaler that I didn’t know.
I know Vlad was brutal and staked people, leaving bodies just there for the intruding army to see. I even spent time touring his castle and visited Romania. (Current day Wallachia)
Maybe I wasn’t paying attention during to visit, but I always thought Vlad defended the lands for the intruding army. I assumed he won. He didn’t. Mehmed faught his way to the capital and place Vlad’s brother Radu on the throne.
See Vlad and Radu grew up in the Ottoman court with Mehmed and they were close for some time. Vlad always felt like a prisoner and wanted his country to be free and not a vasal state. Radu, the younger brother, was more accepting of the Ottoman way of life and stayed on the throne.
Vlad was eventually tracked down and beheaded by the Ottomans, but not for years after he vacated his throne in Wallachia.
I saw a Frederick Douglass bumper sticker today that said something like “It’s easier to raise strong children than it is to fix a broken man.”
I don’t know what I’m adding, but if more dads were like this post we would be better. I think a lot of us (men) don’t know how to be fathers cuz our fathers sucked.

Shit Wendy’s used to have good mobile deals and now they are mostly trash. That new CEO that wanted surge pricing on burgers is fucking up everything with Wendy’s for me.
I’m at a place where the local Mexican restaurant has better dinner deals Mon-Thurs than any fast food around me. Depending on the day it’s like $7-$10. I just gotta watch my drinking there.
The first type of this post I saw was Garfield minus Garfield. That one was more enjoyable because most of the comics just looked like Jon was very depressed and talked to himself.
I’m not sure when Heathcliff got a minus cat version, or if there are other versions. I think it’s just a exercise in creativity to see if the comic still is funny/makes sense even if the OG comic joke is different.

Not if they throw shit at me while I’m on a date. Parents are people too and they have to act respectful to get it. I met too many shit parents on recruiting duty to know that not all parents give a fuck about their kids. And not all deserve respect.
Some of the kids turn 18 with surprise credit card debt. Mom opened up cards in their kids names and went on a spending spree. Thousands of dollars in debt and stuck with the choice of denying the charges and getting Mom in trouble or just being stuck trying to pay off all this debt right out of high school.
Well that’s good news for me. I figured it was being adapted when I noticed the weekly shows, but didn’t look up the source. Obviously finding this community confirms it.
I do like the characters. Well one I find odd…like what’s up with the sister that they are going after in the dungeon? I noticed all the flashbacks and scenes with her in it had her eyes closed. She just seems like a spoof of the captive princess trope. If that was the point then, okay, but she is unsettling to me. Not fleshed out like the other characters. Just smiles and giggles with her eyes closed…
I like the dungeon ecosystem lore too. From the cleaners to the moving floors and different monsters going to different level when resources run low. It’s well thought out.
Well I appreciate it. I’ve seen her talk and in some flash backs with Marcille. I kinda was being overly exaggerated with about never seeing Falin talk. I’m up till >!she gets monsterfied!< and there are some >!elves trying to take over the dungeon!<. Not sure how far in that is, but I’m enjoying it.
If you happen to be in a situation with basic crumbs of a plain salted chip (like utz or something) and hard boiled eggs, then you should combine them.
Our DI made us mix food to save time eating in boot camp, and ngl salted chips and eggs in a bag were dope. They made us crush the chips and eggs, but you can make a coating of chips on the eggs. I actually made it with the last of my chips a couple weeks ago.
Oh shit. You just gave me a memo of middle/high school. I use to be able to do that. I just checked and maybe if I keep practicing, but it’s not there anymore.
Someone I knew did it to me in school. Like just vibrated their eyes while looking at me. Then asked if I could do that. Well no, but it intrigued my young ass enough to figure out how he did it. He told me and after a few days I was able to do it pretty easy.
I can bend the last joint of my right hand middle finger independently. Not any of the other ones though. I found out when I was playing Double Dragon in the arcade and smashing the attack button. My finger when stuff with the first joint bent and still smashing the kick button. I didn’t know what it was.
