97 years to the day after his father Fred Trump was arrested for a KKK rally, Donald Trump is convicted of fraud after paying off an adult film star while his wife nursed their new born child.

How it started: I am the law & order candidate

How it’s going: Donald Trump first President convicted of a crime

My take: https://t.co/lZObaJgbwF

Headline: Trump guilty on all counts

Is this a witch hunt? Will Trump face prison time? Can he still run for President?

I tackle these questions and more below.

For now, my gratitude to the New York Jury who valiantly and courageously fulfilled their civic duty, delivered due process of law, and reminded us all that this country’s head of state is indeed a President accountable to the law, not a dictator who is above the law.

At least not yet.

MAGA Speaker Johnson calls Trump's conviction "a purely political exercise."

For real if blatantly violating FEC laws while running for President by paying off an adult film star while you're married as your wife nurses your newborn child, is a crime—then who among us is safe???

BREAKING: Jury convicts Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts.

Poetic justice that in the state Trump took out a full page ad to falsely accuse 5 Black & brown youth of a crime & called for their death—he’s convicted of 34 counts by a jury of his peers.

Let's be clear.

Trump was NOT convicted by Biden, Clinton, Soros, Big Bird, Target, Wokeness, Disney, pride flag, CRT, or DEI. Trump was convicted by his fellow U.S. citizens under due process—as US Constitution requires

Let justice reign.

By convicting Trump for his clear crimes, the USA joins other developed democracies in ensuring its heads of state are not above the law.

Since 2000 at least 76 nations have jailed/prosecuted leaders after they left office—including allies like France, Israel, Taiwan, & S Korea.

Also, SCOTUS can’t grant Trump immunity from this conviction, nor can a future President, because Trump has been convinced in state court, and if there’s one thing Republicans love, it’s state’s rights.

'We Did the Same Thing,' US Official Says After Israel's Rafah Massacre

The White House appears to be arguing, “George Bush should be prosecuted for committing war crimes in Iraq,” and for the record, I think that’s a great idea.

So to recap—Israel:
•Illegally spied on ICC for 9 years
•Threatened ICC prosecutor Khan
•Killed a story by Haaretz on the illegal spying by having Mossad threaten the Haaretz journalist with torture
•Bans journalists in Gaza and has killed 100+ journalists

7 cops to be charged in police brutality of beating a Palestinian man, branding his face with the Star of David, and then trying to delete the footage.

This was in August of 2023—which you’ll note is Before 10/7.

BREAKING: Justice Alito has sent a letter to the Senate that he is refusing to recuse himself from a clear conflict of interest in the insurrection case.

Surprised? Don't be. This is a reminder that SCOTUS has almost always been on the wrong side of the American people & democracy. On May 7 I wrote, "NBC & NYT have documented 200+ occasions the Israeli Army ordered Palestinian civilians to move to “safe zones”—only to bomb those exact locations hours later with 2000 pound bombs. What assurance can Palestinians have that this forced movement to more concentrated parts of Rafah is not another such cruel & illegal ploy to maximize harm upon & death of Palestinians?"

On May 27 Israel bombed a safe zone in Rafah, killing 45 more civilians.

How is this not intent to genocide?

Israel forced Palestinians to go to a safe zone in Rafah on the promise they wouldn't be bombed—then bombed and killed 45 civilians including 32 children, burning & decapitating them.

I bring the receipts and ask, does a Red Line for Rafah even exist?

Does a Red Line for Rafah even exist?

Despite declaring attacks on Rafah as a "Red Line," the Biden Administration says Israel's attacks on Rafah killing 45 civilians including 32 children is not a deal breaker.

WOW this is incredible & terrifying.

Israel spent over a decade spying on ICC prosecutors to "retroactively investigate incidents of interest to ICC to prove Israel’s legal system is accountable."

Meanwhile Israel has banned all journalists from Gaza and has killed 100+ journalists. This is totally what you do when you're not guilty of war crimes.

How much longer will the USA, UN, & the world enable this injustice?

Not "finish the war."
Not "bring hostages home."
Not even "finish Hamas."

But "Finish Them" hours after a strike mass murdered 44 civilians including 32 children—burning them to ash & decapitating them.

This is an open call to genocide & to ignore that is to be complicit.

Last week I argued before my city council that we must divest from Israel & refusal will result in the killing of innocent Palestinian lives.

The Rafah massacre killing 32 babies is exactly what will continue to happen if we don't divest Now.

90 U.S. Cities divested from apartheid South Africa & pressured the federal govt to act. Use my comments as a template for your city council. ❤️✊🏽

Just to be explicitly clear.

After Israel condemned the ICC for accusing them of deliberately targeting civilians, Israel forced Palestinians into a safe zone where they wouldn't be bombed—then Israel bombed & killed 32 children in that safe zone.

They burned Palestinians alive. On purpose.

ICC: Prosecute these war crimes.

German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck loudly condemns Israel:

"The famine, the suffering of the Palestinians, the attacks in the Gaza Strip are incompatible with international law. It is indeed the case that Israel has crossed a line there, and it must not do so.”

How much longer will the United States allow itself to become isolated for the sake of Israeli war crimes?

@not2b agreed. Surprised but glad they’re finally starting. Still, doing the absolute bare minimum is nothing to celebrate them for and we should continue to apply pressure.
