I’ve tried a lot of the launchers I see talked about frequently- Nova, Niagra, Smart Launcher, Action Launcher, etc. but they all seem to not be worth the hassle of switching away from pixel launcher. At this point, making something that doesn’t work using Wine or Proton is actually kind of an achievement, so congrats EA, you managed to fuck up both Origin and EA app. The actual game runs flawlessly, it’s the launchers that are all kinds of broken.

But everyone says its always breaking and gives problems. That’s because of users, not OS… right? I love to deal with problems but I don’t...
Arch user here. If you’d like to improve your skills and maintain your perfectly fitted distro Arch is a great pick, if you want something that just works forver without learning stuff, try something else; I also don’t recomend Arch-based distros for non-Arch user (manjaro, endeavour) since you’ll break these soon or later. Would be nice instead waiting for a good immutable Arch-based distro. Atomic desktops go brrr

Also on an unrelated note anyway to remove live from your subscribed channels update field ? Some channels are filling it with live so i have to really scroll down to see my video feeds and can’t find a setting to switch it off. Newpipe didn’t used to add live in your what’s new feed of subscribed channels, related pic .
Think about it, Linux is the most future-proof OS, not threatened by companies or commercial interests, and the same can be said for Lemmy in the world of decentralized communication for topics of interest. Without these two things the preservation of video games would be greatly in danger.

At that level of wealth, concepts such as meritocracy (if ever it’s a positive term) are meaningless; let us still tell the fairy tale that capitalism rewards the best of us and not the recommended.
