It’s still pretty dumb. What Senechaud is proposing is that not far off from the Hayes Code. He’s also suggesting going about it the hard way. Instead of simply proposing that players not be able to commit war crimes, he’s asking that there be an in-game system that punishes players committing war crimes in accordance with international law. His stance is also based on the premise that video games now have realistic enough graphics that they could be used to fake footage of real war zones. In no way does a video capture of Call of Duty resemble reality, even when players are deliberately trying to behave realistically due to a combination of things like walking animations still being kind of off, especially when starting or stopping, and gameplay concessions, like bullets spawning in blatantly incorrect positions when guns are shot. It’s really obvious he’s never played these games he’s complaining about.
Fun fact: The Catholic Church, of all things, officially says the ‘let the earth bring forth’ bit of one of the bible’s two creation stories is a poetic way to reference evolution.
Except that that explanation means Tom was made with the original Riker materials and Will was made from matter reserves on the ship using the original Riker as a template.
I’ve been doing a lot of reading into various spiritual concepts and practices from around the world and typically light/order/yang is masculine and dark/chaos/yin is usually feminine. Is there another concept that’s being referenced or is this just a minor but interesting artistic decision?...
But the 28.2 million cows in America only need about an acre of land each; meaning that the 124.7 million acres of land they roam is about five times bigger than what they actually need.
Wouldn’t we want cattle using at least a bit more land than they strictly need? Overgrazing was one of the contributing factors to the Dust Bowl.
Law 0 is also a derived law rather than a programmed one. Robots with both the three laws and sufficient intelligence that are in a position where Law 1 becomes a catch 22 will tend to derive Law 0.
Silica dust will kick up off the nearby dunes, carry in the wind, but due to its weight it’ll be less likely to erode higher elevations. So the tip top of the pyramid is high enough up sand in the wind won’t reach it as easily so it erodes way slower.
That, and the pyramids were stripped for building materials later on. Lower levels were easier to access, so people didn’t generally bother going all the way to the top, except for the ones with gold covered peaks.
