If your character’s starting off at level one, they’re really only getting started with adventuring. You can let that be reflected in their backstory....
I’d never recommend playing dnd 5e at level 1, even for beginners. Level 3 is where classes get their basic identity and you don’t instantly die to everything
But the peril is highest in those first few levels as a strong breeze will kill a level 1 character. I also think it is hard to get a feel for a character if they lack eveything that defines them class-wise imo
For the record, I fully support what the remaining mod team is doing, they are a wonderful group and I trust them completely. I don’t regret the choices I made, only that my actions got a few other mods shit canned in the process.
That would disqualify a lot of the better quality sources and promote low quality clickbait.
I’d much prefer either a paywall bypass, such as archive, in the body or comments. Alternatively a copy of the full text / high quality summary needs to be provided. The rules as provided would for instance disqualify reuters and several investigative journalist papers.
I also think posters who use a non standard source (ie not the well known reuters/ap/bbc/cnn/aljazeera etc) should mention in the text the reach and slant of the source.
When you break your leg they’ll reset it and plaster it while it grows back.
When you are in immense physical pain or need surgery, they’ll give you painkillers/narcotics.
When you mind is off, they’ll give you meds to suppress this so you can become better. There is a conversation to be had about society and if we give too much medication. But the brain is complex and when you are in a depressive spiral, where you contemplate suicide once every 5 seconds, it helps to suppress the fuck out of that so you can heal. speaking from experience there and you can heal
Then there are simply people/disorders which have a changed or disrupted brain chemistry (outside normal variation), if we have medicine to help these people function: we should use it.
It’s not even for better yield, it’s for better access with heavy machinery And the Netherlands exports too much as this water issue is one of a few ways in which our agriculture intensity is harming the long term health of nature and the fertility of the land itself
I’ve started running Curse of Strahd and have been having a ton of fun making wacky homebrew things for my party and tweaking the module. Unbeknownst to the players so far, I have made them all a secret Dark Power trying to use them to usurp Strahd and Vampyr, and they’re just waiting to offer their dark gift....
Three years ago I wrote some notes regarding the lore and background of the world I placed my players in. Now they’re invested and actually hunting down the villain I added only as a background.
Nothing is as good as players being invested and exploring the world well past my initial ideas.
