I’m literally in this picture and I don’t like it :D
Jokes aside, the extreme politics that stem from some instances will only hurt the the growth of the fediverse.
I don’t think we should defederate from lemmy.ml but I’d certainly recommend users adding it to their list of blocked instances. Hopefully less people end up using the communities on the instance and its significance in the overall fediverse dwindles.
When Britain’s prime minister, Rishi Sunak, stood in the pouring rain last week to announce a general election, there could hardly have been a less auspicious beginning to the Conservative Party’s campaign. In the space of a few days, it has gone downhill from there....
People always seem caught up on this - as they should do, but people never seem to treat other parties broken pledges the same way. “I got screwed over by the Lib Dems in 2010, therefore I’ll never vote for them and vote Labour instead” - a party who have broken probably at least 100x as many pledges and made numerous U-turns. Labour promised electoral reform when they’d get in power and then immediately abandoned it, a change would have totally transformed British politics.
If you align mostly with the Lib Dems, then vote for them, unless your absolute priority is to keep the Tories out and then you should vote tactically.
If we didn’t vote for a party based on a single broken promise from over a decade ago then nobody would vote for anyone.

What country are you from? I don’t see any fascist comments in your profile, but you do seem extremely pissed off that Ukraine is defending itself from Russia.
They do though? They provide a place to live that you can move into way faster than you can if you were buying it. They cover the maintenance costs, and some even provide properties that are fully furnished.
I agree that they hoard properties for financial gain but they do provide something.

My wife and her mum have gone away until Monday, so I’ve got both the kids all weekend. They’re keeping me on my toes! I’m trying to find the time to watch the F1 qualifying but don’t have a chance.
Only found out at 8:30 this morning that my daughter has a birthday party to go to at 10:45, and my wife has the car so might have to chance cycling there and hopefully avoid the rain.
Maybe it uses the road signs? I think most modern cars already read the road signs and display the limit on the dash.
Only issue with this system, at least from my car is that it can sometimes get it wrong, so it would be super annoying if the car beeped when I was doing more than 10mph that what it thinks the limit is.
