King's Quest 1: Quest for the Crown VGA (Tierra Entertainment, 2001)

So apparently this American 2001 DVD of Luc Besson's Subway (1985) that didn't even bother filling up a single layer disc is the only digital home media release that features an optional English dub where Christopher Lambert dubs himself. ๐Ÿค”
Well, you can grab it here now, if that's something you're into:

Shariki is almost certainly the first modern Match 3 game. But almost nobody has heard about it or its author. It's never brought up in history of the genre, and instead people go for Columns and such. But someone at PopCap must have played it.

Last week an updated version of a unique Russian RTS Perimeter (2004) was released. It includes the full original campaign that was previously unavailable in the English language releases:

I realized that there are multiple uploads of the "Chronological Presentation" cut of Memento (2000), but they are all fan edits. So I decided to put up the exact version from the 2002 Limited Edition DVD. Now you can watch this edit & realize the film doesn't work at all dramatically & emotionally when presented chronologically, in the exact way Christopher Nolan had previously provided:

I think the coolest part about this remake is that it's actually running the original Apple II version underneath all the modern features and assets.

@Gamrok Beautiful restoration too. It's a shame they can't do that for Amelie.

@dosnostalgic@mastodon.social avatar

@Gamrok Not rights. Original film materials weren't preserved ("someone" refused to pay for that,) so there's nothing to rescan. The movie only exists as a 2K DI.

I have finally dragged on clothes, so welcome to !

I share my tee, you show me your tee/shirt/outfit, everyone looks awesome and cute, it's great.

Today's shirt is Ashenspire's Three Months to the Gutter tee, art by Hagiophobic.

They're an avant-garde red/anarchist black metal (RABM) band, and Hostile Architecture is one of my favourite albums of the last few years. Equal parts beautiful and brutal, and upholding the rule that all metal bands with saxophones are good.

If you're near London in the UK, they're playing at Desertfest at the Electric Ballroom this afternoon at 14:30.

Listen to them: https://ashenspire.bandcamp.com/music

@Specialist_Being_677 Are you sure you're not thinking of the way of playback instead of the actual tune? Like, this MIDI of Children is actually indistinguishable from the real thing if you play it on a high quality wavetable. But obviously it's not gonna be the case when trying to approximate the instruments on an OPL2/3:

When supernatural urban fantasy film "Night Watch" (2004) was released outside of Russia, a new version was produced. An inferior one, imo. Since then the "International" version became the one distributed across all formats, and the original 115 min cut became confined to a DVD released only in Russia.

Now you can find a direct stream copy of the DVD together with official English subtitles in an MKV here: https://archive.org/details/night-watch-2004-original

@mcc I like Day Watch a bunch. And thankfully the only version available on home video is unchanged.
