epl692,

“This isnt exclusive to autism”. Okay I said it, everybody shut up now. Lol yeah I do this all the time too. I reply things over and over.

epl692,

What do you like to print? I like making useful things. Currently Im working on a system for mobility aids to attach items like phone charger batteries and cup holders… and my ham radio!

Fellow auties, which do you find is a better and healthier fit for you: dating another autistic person or an NT?

I’m really confused about this. On one hand (✋), I can see how dating an autistic person would be amazing because we would just understand each other on another level. We would get each other’s emotions, meltdowns, joy, special interests, hyperfocus, communication style, etc. Also, there’s no NT partner to miss whatever...

epl692,

My wife is ADHD, and I’m Autistic. I think we balence out each other, though we did have a funny experiance one time where someone (A doctor at a hospital I was at) asked her if she was autistic too, and my wife said, “No, why do you ask?” And the Dr said, “Well they tend to find each other”. I did date one other person before her, and she was on the spectrum, and honestly, it didn’t work very well, because we did not solve each others meltdowns, and when we did, it tended to go badly. On the upside, her ADHD lets her focus on everything that needs to be done at once, while my focus lets me remind her what she was doing, then she reminds me of all the things I didn’t do yet, that didn’t even cross my mind, such as breakfast, or meds. I get asked the tough questions sometimes even like “Have you had water today?”, “Have you eaten?”

Diversity is good for each other I think.

epl692,

Yes, and I’ll include other items I carry on my walker as well: Steam Deck Battery Packs for phones/devices no less then 4 two way radios Ham radio gear Charger cables for everything I own. A change of clothes baby wipes Medication My other wallet. note takeing stuff a laptop? (Sometimes) TI-83+ Graphing Calculator (Gotta have my trusty old guy) Kindle EPI Pens Water Bottle Snacks Other stuff I probably forgot.

epl692,

I just bought a compression vest from amazon, its been great.

epl692,

What app do you use? I use recipesage.

epl692,

I use a cheap pc I was not using, and let it do folding@home when I’m not printing… Actually… it does it while printing too. Anyways, Just get another board that handles klipper and just add it? Is there a specific “USB to Stepper” board, or do I just hotwire in another motherboard. I have the Ender 3 Pro with the “magical probably wont burn down your house” power supply, is that enough for another board, if I’m running another stepper?

Thanks!

epl692,

They all get baked in the shower.

Thank you autocorrect, I’m leaving it.

epl692,

It’s working pretty good for me. And federation is great. But I can’t seem to upload photos. Maybe there’s a file size cap.

epl692,

I recall having to explain to someone that we could use netscape navigator, even though we paid for “MacNet” internet service. There was concern that it was not allowed at our house.

epl692,

Can you buy cryptocurrency? SDF has been known to accept that from time to time. Run the 'dues' command on the system, or contact membership.

Good system to get in to.

So, Last year I lost my vintage computers (most of them a work in progress) in a house fire. I’ve started rebuilding my collection. I’ve got my TI-83+ still, I consider that to be one. It was with me when the fire happened, and I have an old windows 95 computer I got my hands on, still not sure what to do with him yet. Ideas...

epl692,

Just curious, what does one need to get started with this thing? Probably more then what comes in the box? Looks interesting that’s for sure.

epl692,

So, Originally I used it to learn the UNIX command line, now I use it for all sorts of things. A lot of social networking. I've tried webhosting, but... well... it's been more miss then hit there. It's a great community though, and I love it!

epl692, (edited )

Hello, epl692 here. Been an SDF user since... Oh... 2006 or so. That was a good year for SDF I think. Well... A good year to sign up. Been with the community since. Not always active, but im enjoying the Lemmy and Mastodon instances, board, irc, com, etc. Anyways, good to be here and still figuring this out. I have a reddit account. But always found the site to be somewhat limiting. Maybe I was shy? Anyways. Hello, world. Anyone know of a good command line client? I found neonmodem, but I can't seem to get it to work.

EDIT: It's neonmodem, not neomodem (made the correction), and it works just fine in the latest version, especially when you get your password right! Ha!
