With how much climate anxiety I have I always think about ways I could cut back and use my car as little as possible, which makes it all the more upsetting when my work tries to get me to go back to the office and burn unnecessary fossil fuels, then I remember that the reason they’re doing this is mainly financial justification for the office space and political favors and it’s deeply upsetting.

I mean it could be but it’s important that we don’t assume that. I mean I’m just dumb.

Main issue is Gemini traditionally uses it’s training data and the version answering your search is summarising search results, which can vary in quality and since it’s just a predictive text tree it can’t really fact check.

Criticizing our leaders is one of the core principals of democracy.

Voting is also a core principal. So please stop encouraging non-participation.

franklin,
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

You clearly haven’t seen any of the replies from OP in the comments.

A large part of Lemmy including OP encourage political protest of the Democrats shortcomings by not voting.

franklin,
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

You misunderstand me, you should be allowed not to vote but encouraging it as a form of protest is misguided.

franklin, (edited )
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

No it isn’t. You have the right not to vote but participation should be encouraged as it’s what gives everyone a say. Seems pretty simple to me. I’m not even saying they don’t have the right to discourage people but if you have lived through the last 8 years and do it, you’re a REALLY slow learner.

franklin,
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

I would say it’s wholely ineffective and only enables the worst actors

franklin,
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

Incredibly disagree, it can be both

@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

Well enjoy the 4 years of Trump this buy’s you, let me know how clean your hands feel afterwards. It’ll be impressive to hear the mental gymnastics. You know if the accelerated climate change doesn’t kill us first.

Here is what I use for vertical tabs that might fit your needs.

Since it was the chip from the Nintendo switch that was used for the original Nvidia Shield I wonder if what the switch to we’ll see a revision?

Probably just wishful thinking, it seems like Nvidia’s core strategy isn’t the consumer market anymore.

You can’t investigate employee abuse allegations months after the fact, everything there is circumstantial and proving anything after the fact is near impossible.

This was obviously an act done to cover the business. I’m not saying they are wrong to do so. I’m just saying that anyone expected any other outcome isn’t living in reality.

@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

Most places I’ve worked have data retention policies in place that would twart to any such efforts.

To add this any party that’s perpetrating abuse would obviously know to avoid recorded communication. I’m my anecdotal experience people tend to think better of it when they have time to actually type it out.

Lastly given the sensitive nature of the investigation and the third party being hired it was obvious we’d never get a look behind the curtain at the methodology and without that any statement is worthless.

franklin,

Imagine if someone took every mistake you ever made and magnified it as if you weren’t allowed to grow or change.

That’s you, that’s what you sound like

franklin,
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

You can’t say if he’s proud of it or not currently. All I know for sure is that actions speak louder than words and it’s the most action we’ve gotten a long time.

Is it the solution we need? No. However anytime he tries to do anything broader he’s blocked by Congress so I can’t hold too much at his feet.

franklin,
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

Way ahead of you I’ve went there once in two years, can’t stand the place.

Yeah, I do, like harm reduction. Which is what a vote for Biden is. I’m not willing to accelerate the situation in the middle East, climate change, pollution and erosion of rights to make an ineffective point.

Ah but I hear you say Biden isn’t perfect, no the fuck he isn’t but we’re that much further from the left thanks to last time we tried this in 2016.

franklin, (edited )
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

I’m not saying she would have moved us to the left I’m saying Donald Trump moved us to the right.

franklin,
@franklin@lemmy.world avatar

None but that’s a different argument not the one at hand.

Fight Congress on this, Biden is the most pro marijuana president we’ve had in a long time but Congress would rather ratify Roe v. Wade (which they should) into law than see marijuana legalization.

The prison industrial complex makes too much money for their backers

I used this example because our Republican Congress and SCOTUS hates women and bodily autonomy.

The electoral college, first past the post and gerrymandering basically make the American electoral system a joke
