I’m sure we can all agree that Charter Spectrum is one of the absolute worst companies out there (alongside most American ISPs, many of which operate as monopolies). Going by the available evidence, they also price gouge poor people. The linked pricing disparities report is as alarming as it is damning.

@digichelle I was overjoyed to finally kick them to the curb last year when Lumos Fiber came to our neighborhood after TWENTY YEARS of Spectrum having a monopoly here. One of the most satisfying calls I’ve ever made was the one I did to cancel my spectrum account.

I would not doubt for a second that Trump even if found guilty in his NY case won’t serve any jail time what-so-ever. It’s just the way it goes when it comes to him for some bizarre reason.

@orchard yep, the problem is even if he loses he won’t concede and the GOP in the house & senate likely won’t ratify the results. They’ll bring court case after court case to throw out the election results. And who knows what happens then.

Well, I finally had enough with MLB‘s blackout restrictions. Signed up for a VPN so I can watch all the blacked out games including them playing the Orioles right now which I can never watch. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get it working on the Apple TV.

Success! I installed the VPN client on AppleTV and did some “adjusting of settings” and it worked. I can finally watch the Sox play Baltimore and the Nationals and the Braves. Thanks to all those who wrote and DM’d with advice and tips. ⚾️👍

This past weekend was pretty memorable. Went to Bentonville, AR for Bike Fest. I only brought my e-bike as our goal was to get as much riding in as possible over 3 days. Broke my lower cage on my derailleur, rain dumped on us in the morning of day 2, and day 3 was just perfect. Officially clocked 92 miles of riding during our trip.

I was riding a bunch of skinnies (elevated wood beams that you can ride across like an obstacle course to test your balance) and I pretty easily cleared them all. But as my front wheel rolled off the last part, I started to pedal and I guess my back wheel was on the very left edge of the wooden blank. I think the power of the e-bike motor caused the wheel to spin and my back wheel slide off the end of the plank on the left and my derailleur landed right on the plank causing it to snap. It was a very costly mistake. I called all the bike shops and luckily found one that had a spare that I could purchase. Stayed off the skinnies for the rest of the trip. 😅 It was painful every time I passed them because I love skinnies.

It seems counterintuitive but Steve is right here. One of the defining aspects of the conservative movement is that they don’t change, at least not for the better. They are firmly rooted in the past and the only way out is through/forward, not back.
