I’m curious where they get their data. Their info for my area doesn’t match the fuel mix report from my public utility.

Edit: looks like data sources are linked on their GitHub.

And the someone else they sold to was crooked, too:

… majority shareholder Thai Union Group, which is also their main seafood supplier, might have pushed the shrimp promotion in order to boost their own sales at the cost of the retailer’s finances. This ownership structure between parties that are supposed to be on opposite sides of restaurant transactions does appear to be a clear conflict of interest.

The bit about the “Codfather” who went to prison for price fixing and dealing with the Russian mob was interesting, too. Wonderful people all around in this story.

I second the idea of looking for a bike co-op. Or even ask at small shops if they would be interested in teaching you. I have known mechanics who would happily stay after hours to help people who wanted to learn. In either place you will have access to the right tools and a wealth of knowledge.

I think the right pedal has a Unior thread adapter on it. These are used to repair a stripped crank arm. When the 9/16"x20 threads strip out you ream the hole and re-tap it with a 5/8"x24 thread, then and use the adapter to make the pedals fit.

If you need a shaft to slide through the wall of your housing, Google “shaft seal” or “oil seal.” The seal usually presses into a hole in your housing, so you will want the housing to be metal rather than plastic.

https://www.mcmaster.com/products/shaft-seals/

A dynamic seal like this is going to be difficult to implement. The shaft will need to be very smooth and carefully aligned to the housing. Some small amount of water is likely to get past the seal.

I’m with @Longpork3. Consider other ways to actuate your claw that don’t require moving a part through the housing wall. I’m addition to pneumatic or hydraulic actuators outaide your housing, here’s an idea using magnets and screws:

What song should I play for my bathroom neighbors?

The work bathroom is currently a warzone, on their phone speakers people like to play music, play games at full blast, and one guy likes to chill to ambient rainforest. What song can I play to passive aggressively make it known that I don’t want to listen to their tik tok feeds while I work out my demons?

Establishing a new state is very hard. Attempts to do so have been unsuccessful many times before:

It doesn’t help that this is not a large and popular movement. I have attended schools with more students than the resident populations of some of these counties. This is purely political theater by a relatively small group of people.

The countries with the most Fediverse servers are rich and former/current colonial powers. One of the best true barometers of the success of the Fediverse is how quickly we can turn that on its head. (sopuli.xyz)

In the end I don’t think internet users in rich powerful countries are the users most likely to benefit and invest their time into in the fediverse. They might be the ones with the most free time, money and privilege around computers which makes being on the leading edge of niche technologies far easier, but I don’t think...

I think GDP in this case, but yeah, same idea. It makes sense that wealthy countries with good infrastructure are going to be high on the list.

Country (nominal GDP rank)
USA (1)
France (7)
Germany (4)
Japan (3)
Finland (47)
Canada (9)
Netherlands (18)
Russia (8)
UK (6)

High-GDP countries that are notably missing are China (2, users are limited by the Great Firewall) and India (5, still building their infrastructure).

I wonder why Finland is so high on the list? Good for them, regardless.

As others have mentioned, Diary of Anne Frank is the only fitting non-fiction book that comes to mind.

Angela’s Ashes is sometimes assigned in high school. It’s mostly non-fiction, though the author describes his own conception so clearly it’s not all strictly true.

Does Weird Al count? Because he is just as talented as any “serious” musician.

Also, The Presidents of the United States of America.
