This is so sad fate. Morrowind was absolute gem of that era, nothing compared to it at the time. It has wonderful world it takes place in which is believable and filled with interesting characters, supported by truly brilliant soundtrack. And while story is quite decent there’s about gazillion other things to do, explore, see.
It’s sad that every upcoming bethesda game was more and more simplified and lost a bit of the morrowind magic.
For self-hosting though, the project I work on - Snikket - uses XMPP but has all the nice modern things you’d expect ready to go right out of the box, more like a Matrix (Synapse/Element) setup. Probably the biggest thing missing for Snikket right now is an official web app (we currently have Android and iOS apps)....
I want to upgrade some of my older machines with some new, high(er) capacity SSDs (SATA and nvme). I don’t need super high speeds, just something in the TB range in terms of storage....
We have hundreds of Samsung 860/870 EVOs in operation at my work now. All of them are working reliably in both windows and linux machines running 24/7 for years. Some more heavily used (local postgres db) are probably not in the best condition, but still working. Speaking of mostly 250 GB ones.
We used to buy OCZ brand. First OCZs (Vertex 3) were amazing, some of them are still in work for 10+ years. Vertex 460 still great, again, some are still in use. But ever since Toshiba came in and old models were replaced with Trion models, it went to shit. Some of those models in the same environment started to fail (and I mean critical failures, like no OS after reboot or missing data etc.) after less than a year. Some of them still run in less critical PCs with light use, but do I trust the brand? Hell no.
I just checked one 250 GB OCZ Vertex 3 running for ~10 years with Crystaldisk. It has over 220 TB written, 300 TB read, and crystaldisk still shows roughly 40% lifetime left. It ran in badly wented, really dusty Dell Optiplex with Windows XP.
Edit: Personally I also have good experience with Crucial/Micron too, but that’s just based on home use for storing music, documents, steam games and not much else.
Yep, it’s a lot, but it should be right. Hope I did not misread the numbers. It runs quite write-heavy warehouse and cash register store database, running 24/7. I don’t have the drive by me now, but I’ll try to remember and post pic on Monday when I’m back to work.
I am trying to figure out how I can retain personal SSH keys (probably the most important part, or at least important to have an alternative connection method) while also having modern tools like SSO or at least SAML, some way to federate to different ADs....

I still see no point of using Manjaro when it’s still basically crippled Arch. Why not use Arch itslef? If installation is too much, there’s archinstal or EndeavourOS. It’s just puzzling to me.
To clear it up, I don’t use either of them. But if I had to pick, I’d go with Endeavour much rather than Manjaro.
Not 100% sure, but should be less than one year after first one.
It won’t happen in Prague, but should be part in Kutna Hora (medieval city) and other one in Cesky raj (Jicin/Turnov area, very picturesque area with beautifull landscape).
I played the game for years over decade ago. It was fun with friends, but ultimately turned to absolute cesspool over years. Don’t get me wrong, toxicity was always there (as with every other online game), but it ranked up every year. Year after year. Until I finally gave up and never really looed back, because of how toxic and miserable I felt in game. Can’t even imagine it nowadays.
I’m not native speaker so please excuse my stupid question. How does the “a” change the meaning? My language doesn’t even have articles so I have troubles with using them or understanding such nuances.
The other benefit of this is you can usually play older games on maxed out settings (PC). I would barely run Crysis on my PC when it came out, but when I finally got to it few years later (and with newer computer) it was easily maxed out and looked amazing (and it still does even today).
I have a Surface Pro 4, and I’m looking for a simple PDF viewer that works well in tablet mode. I used to use Edge, but after they switched to chromium it lost a few key features for me (pen input automatically being a pen instead of scroll, pen eraser working, full screen page swipe rather than scroll, etc). Everything else...
I played ME1 years ago. It was decent overall, but I would hardly call it exceptional.
I remember a little. Just that story was mostly good, main quests okayish, side quests mostly terrible and repetitive. It always felt like cheap knock off of KotOR (cheap in content, not presentation).
Everyone was hyping the game so hard I was quite disappointed in the end. So disappointed I haven’t even started ME2 despite having it in library. And it probably won’t ever happen, especially when I discovered they ditched the bare minimum RPG elements ME1 had.
I remember playing Diablo back in the 90s at my friends PC. I chose warrior as I always do in RPGs. The game was fun, atmospheric as f*ck, but then I hit those lava maze levels with shooters everywhere. It was terrible, because rhey kept shooting and running with no chance to get to them and kill 'em. So I ditched the game for good. I’ll always remember it as the most atmospheric and dark game of that era and still have great memories of it.

is Texas really that cold and cruel as depicted in movies of the Coen brothers, the novels of Cormac Mccarthy and the movie Hell or High Water?
