Exactly that for me too, I’ve opened multiple bug reports over the years, and IIRC, even Worte with one of the devs. I think it needs a good amount of extra work on connectivity and user feedback to clearly system why something isn’t working
Simplified, murder is when you extensively plan to kill someone where homicide is a spur of the moment thing. In this case it might even be argued that it’s attempted (?) manslaughter, the accidental killing of people, as homicide would still be on purpose where here it can reasonably be argued that the guy wanted to scare and intimidate them, but not kill them
Imagine that the US goes full hippie and dismantles its entire military, sending all the money to schools and hospitals and infrastructure and its economy. Fixes poverty, free healthcare, yay!
Pardon my French, but China and Russia would ass duck it into oblivion within a week. THAT is why we can’t have nice things. As long as there are dictators out there, we will continue to need armies, unfortunately.
Russia has shown that depending on each other with economies doesn’t work to keep the peace, all you need is a greedy bastard who is happy to throw hundreds of thousands of innocent lives into the meat grinder, happy to ruin his countries economy, all so he can play the next tzar.
So like it or no, we NEED armies and given the choice of being ruled by the US or China or Russia, I’ll choose the US a hundred times over, as idnlike to stay out of punishment camps for the rest of my life.

A) stop allowing companies to settle with the “while not admitting any wrong doing”
B) stop fining companies finger slaps, not even hand slaps? Make fines depend on their annual revenue and see how fast they’ll behave
C) start requiring companies to divulge the parson who is the source of said wrong doing, and the person who signed off on wrong doing, and prosecute these persons also individually from the company, criminally if need be
This way, companies will start behaving a lot faster, or, you know, at all.
Right now you know that this company will still hire a white dude even though they’re not saying it again in the ad.
Trump has waffled on whether the Israel-Gaza war should end. But speaking to wealthy donors behind closed doors, he said that he supports Israel’s right to continue “its war on terror.”...
Maybe you should understand that there are biggwr pictures?
The sucky part of being a politician is that inevitably you’ll have to make decisions that you won’t like, that go against your better judgement, that you might be opposed to. There simply may be bigger issues at stake. You may have an ally that you begrudgingly have to support because if you don’t you can lose that ally, making the situation so much worse. Worse yet, you might upset a large part of your voters that will in turn not vote for you on the next election.
I dunno for sure but I think that Biden is in the situation where he must be very careful with what he does with Israel. You may not have noticed, but he has been criticizing them, he has been pushing them to stop, but very very carefully.
In a way He’s may be in the same situation as us. Just as we begrudgingly have to vote Biden over trump to avoid shit really going to hell, he may have to begrudgingly support Israel to avoid losing many voters that he’ll need in the next elections.
Because of this I think it isn’t as simple as “Biden is a liar” and “Biden supports genocide”. I could be wrong and he very well may be evil, but from what I’ve seen, from what he’s been doing in other parts of his job, I highly doubt that. I really do believe that he’s trying to navigate this situation as carefully sd he can.
Hey míster, 1999 called, they want their Linux comment back.
Linux is easier to install than Windows. On windows 11 vs. Ubuntu Linux:
Literally last time I installed both, Linux was a 25 minute task that includes download time. Windows was a week long hell that in total cost me over 7 hours, required me to make bios changes, run VMs to try and burn the damn image and a whole lot more headaches
Out of the box, Linux will detect and support most hardware quite well. Again, can’t say the same for windows where a lot of manual labour was involved.
On how it works? Even my mother can sit down and use it out of the box, talking from experience.
Is Linux perfect? By no means it is. Are there spill specialty devices out there that require extra work or may not even be supported? I’m sure there are. Does the same go for Windows? You bet your ass.
Does Linux have a better user experience than Windows? You bet your ass. No ads, no marketing BS, no money begging, no tricks, no clutter, no OS stuffed with sponsored crap, it. Just. Works.
If Trump wins then that’s it, for the world, really. The US will convert to a theocratic dictatorship, ruled by religious doomsday nuts with nukes. Trump is, as usual, the puppet of Putin, so do expect the US not only to withdraw from Europe, I fully expect him to actively help Russia to conquer more parts of Europe than the USSR ever had.
Am I overthinking and overstating things? Most of it is based off Trump’s words and actions, the Republican 2025 documents, and well… Maybe a lot of pure cynicism as well, as I’ve seen humanities behaviorfall of a cliff
Yeah I’m not so sure about your story now. This went from a normal girl who turned crazy once you rejected her to all of you I’m being in multiple relationships.
I understand the ope marriage and swingers thing, I don’t think I get that polyamory thing.
TNG, DS9 are heavyweights with countless great (and a number of not so great) episodes. The characters are very likable and example figures in life. The stories were mostly good, loads of great and awesome stories. The cinematography was just nice and calm, the ships were places where people could actually live and looked beautiful. The techno babble was at least rooted in something. It was positive.
What we have now is quite literally opposite of all that. The cinematography is now all quick cuts, weird angles and basically “edgy”. The characters are egocentric and just plain awful, especially in discovery. Ships are no longer places where people would actually live, it’s all dark and broody, swearing is common because reasons and remember that time that in TNG someone said merde? That is the exact same! Now we do visible torture, character histories are cherry pick optional so characters that were on an arc of redemption and show wisdom are now lesbian dual pistol wielding ninja mass murderers… not that I care about anyone’s sexual preferences, seriously don’t, but if a character is one don’t make it another just to tick a checkbox. If you want to have a ship full of transgenders, then by all means do that, just don’t use existing characters for that (except maybe dax?)
And who can be surprised by any of it? All classic trek was always made by people who loved trek and who were with it for long times. Nu trek is made by people who self professed never even eat he’d star trek, don’t really care about it, and prefer to use the show to shoehorn their political views, so we get whatever the hell those things were that they called Klingons but we’re actually trump fans, I sht you not.
Another show came along, called the Orville. It was created by a huge fan of classic trek and it frigging shows. Its a ship where I want to live and work. Lighting is actually normal, wow! It has nice and relatable characters in story lines that actually make you think about morals and ethics… Sounds familiar? It’s an awesome show, though even there season three kinda suffers from the cgi over storyline… It’s sad that a non trek show does trek better than star trek itself now.
Yeah, and nobody thinks that is a seriously bad idea? Here, please allow is to lock you into all our products so we can ensure you have to use them life long, like it or not.
The tools aren’t given just out of the goodness of Microsofts heart. Make everyone use word so now if i don’t use words I might run into compatibility issues. Make everyone use Microsoft teams, so well, little options there to even use a competing product.
The issue here is that Microsoft does it to force people into using their products whether they want or need to or not
Uh huh, totally not the drug addicted scammers fault that he made bullshit claim after bullshit claim, pushing engineers to make reckless decisions, totally not the owners fault.
I’ll grant you that SpaceX has, amongst others, a number of smart engineers, though smart is a relative term if you’re working for elon musk
So when running a Linux desktop, what does one do to avoid these search engines? I use DuckDuckGo for the moment, but if love some alternatve that isnopen source too, self hosted if need be, and federated would be awesome
Though the first is abused to death, yes, I vehemently disagree with the second. I do believe in science. Just because here and there there are cheaters doesn’t mean that science is valid. Cheaters eventually get caught and science continues. Because of science you have that phone in your hand on which you write your post and read my comment, because of science you are alive. Science is trying to find out what is and why.
I believe in science and there is nothing scary about that.

Because getting food from your own garden is cute but absurdly unsustainable for 8 billion people in this world?
Like it or not, factories and large companies are the reason that 8 billion people can love on this planet. Granted, said companies can be quite abusive and a lot of rules are still in place allowing this abuse, but we’re getting better at it, ymmv per country. Either way, abuse is not as bad today as it was 100 years ago or even 50 years ago. If automation and AI continue their current course, we’ll all be working 2-3 day weeks soon as well.
Either way, I get the point, I’m just saying don’t swing too far in the other direction either.
