For me it’s about the customer service. I stayed in 30 airbnbs in 2 years and when I needed Airbnb, they fully sided with the host who was lying and faked chat screenshots, didn’t bother to get any proof from my side and just penalised me.
On the other hand, with Booking, I always felt fully supported by customer service.
I’ll only use airbnb if there’s absolutely no other option. It’s a liability, even more for longer stays.

When I was much younger this was an issue because I’d pursue people out of loneliness, not because they were actually a good match. After we’d be together for a few weeks, the loneliness would go away, and then I’d realise that I didn’t like them to begin with. Awful to do that to other people, I know.
Worked on it through therapy and overcame this behaviour.
Speak for yourself, if someone ghosts me like that twice, I’m quite done with them. I am an introvert and I take the time at least once a day to reply to all messages from people I care about. Which’s like 3.
To be fair, this only happened twice. I have friends who consistently take days to reply, that’s totally fine with me. But if I send a message, couple weeks go by without a reply or the person initiating conversation, and then it happens again, that means that they don’t care about talking to me, which’s 100% their right 🤷♂️
If someone is going through a hard time, dealing with depression and whatnot, that’s different, but also the exception.

Not sure you’re arguing in good faith, as the answer to this is apparent. Of the long list of harm cellphones and social media bring to children, having a few children with cellphones within a social context (school, etc) would bring the harm anyway.
It’s amazing that you’re such an illuminated parent, and no doubt a blessed human being who doesn’t suffer social pressure, but your point is meaningless/harmful as it ignores the reality that most humans and parents suffer from social pressure.
That’s called “lying” or “misleading”. We don’t need another word for that, we do, however could use with the actual meaning of the verb “to gaslight”.
