prole,

Dunno if anyone has mentioned it yet, but it’s relatively easy to set up Chiaki on the Deck to remote play PS5 games.

prole,

Extras is the best thing they ever did, and yeah it would have been shit without Merchant.

prole,

Founding fathers were mostly (if not all) deists, not Christian.

prole,

But regardless of what distro they use, they’re probably going to have to Google stuff every now and then. If they’re not ready for that, then maybe they’re not ready for Linux.

I switched a few months ago, and EndeavorOS is the only distro I’ve used and see no reason to switch. It’s been fantastic.

prole,

Yup. Works great.

prole,

PSP? Lol what?

Edit: oh… Yeah there’s already a “Sony PSP.”

prole,

Dual Sense also has adaptive triggers which are awesome, and probably the best haptics I’ve felt in a controller.

prole,

Been using Chiaki on my Steam Deck for a while now. Portable Bloodborne was great.

prole, (edited )

I had to tinker with settings a bit, and don’t recall exactly what I had to do. I remember it being glitchy, and I was able to get rid of it with one of the graphics options. I’m using Chiaki4Deck, which is a fork of Chiaki specifically made for Steam Deck, in case we’re talking about different settings.

One thing that possibly rings a bell is the window behind the game (the Chiaki app where you pick a console) is still open in the background which could cause flashing and glitching. Have you tried running it in Desktop mode?

Also, sometimes it doesn’t connect and the only way to get it to try again is by resetting the PS5. Once it’s connected, it works fine.

prole,

Watching this right now. Very good. One of the few remaining high quality video essayists left on YT imo.

prole,

Al pastor is my fave, when it’s from a legit place. So fucking good.

Though I do like birria tacos lately…

prole,

My private tracker days are behind me after they shut down OiNK, and then later what.cd. Though I can’t say I don’t miss it sometimes. At its peak, What was an amazing place.

prole,

Recently switched to Linux a couple months ago and can’t recommend EndeavorOS more. It’s great.

prole,

Adaptive triggers begin as a hardware feature. Steam Deck can’t emulate that without changing the triggers out completely (if it’s possible at all).

I imagine the internal motors for the crazy precise haptic feedback is also hardware level.

prole,

I wish more PlayStation games would allow use of motion controls. I’ve gotten used to enabling it with Steam Deck to actually make fps games playable for me on controller, then when I switch to ps5 and start tilting the controller for precise aiming and nothing happens…

Steam input, and their customization options for controllers on Steam Deck (or I guess in Steam in general) are incredible, and something I don’t see mentioned nearly enough.

prole,

At this point it feels like Netanyahu has a checklist with 6 million boxes, and is checking them off as fast as possible so they can finally get even with Germany or something.

prole, (edited )

Yup, works just fine on my Steam Deck if anyone was wondering. Been years since I’ve played the game… The second one never pulled me in like the first.

Edit: Quick note if anyone is having issues, I switched ti GE-Proton before even starting it up for the first time and it worked so I never changed it.

prole,

I think i may have forgotten to mention that I started out trying it with GE-Proton as I’ve had better luck in the past with brand new “unsupported” (per Steam) games, and it worked with GE-Proton.

prole,

RoR soundtrack is incredible…

But I might have to go with Hotline Miami as the best. Or at least in the top 3 for me.

prole,

I like the idea of this game (and series) a lot. I really have NO interest in a 2D side-scroller, though.

They were telling you that Risk of Rain 2 is almost identical to the first game, but it is a 3rd person shooter in full 3D, and not a 2D sidescroller. So the one issue you mentioned is no longer an issue.

At least that’s what I thought they meant.

prole,

Ahhh ok, right. So it has nothing to do with being a 2D sidescroller. Why lie?

prole,

It refers to a one-state solution. A legitimately possible solution with a lot of support. And no, it’s not anti-semitism and it’s not about killing or getting rid of anyone. It’s bad faith to frame it as such.

prole,

So the letter was just for funsies? Seems like he was planning on retiring soon, and that date was moved up for reasons outlined in his letter.

New York City sets up office to give migrants one-way tickets out of town, to anywhere in the world (english.elpais.com)

Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, has described the situation as a crisis and has begun to warn that shelters are so full that migrants will soon be forced onto the street as winter approaches. “I cannot say this enough. You know, we are out of the room,” he told reporters this week. “And it’s not ‘if’ people will be...

prole,

I think that’s your point. As in that’s the reason you’d take the ticket. And so would I probably. That’s exactly why they always do this around this time of year. Who wouldn’

Do you think they bus them away for the summer, and then bring them back to continue being homeless during warmer months? The goal is to get them to leave and never come back so nobody has to look at them anymore, and the pretense (which isn’t necessarily fake or complete made up) is that they’ll go somewhere warmer. Just shuffle them around to a different city, with probably less infrastructure and fewer safety nets.

Our government (not just talking NYC here, they do it better than most places in the US and it’s still shit) should be building housing for these people, instead of paying for them to leave.

I’m not sure that NYC is equipped…

The reality is, our entire country is more than equipped to handle this problem. We just choose not to.
