  • saturnonice,

agree, but it’s not just lemmy, it’s every social media site. On bigger ones like reddit it’s just easier to only interact with specific groups. lemmy has the problem of being very small, so if a bunch of people leave it will hurt more. It feels like this conflict has always been unique in how polarizing it is.

America's nonreligious are a growing, diverse phenomenon. They really don't like organized religion (apnews.com)

Mike Dulak grew up Catholic in Southern California, but by his teen years, he began skipping Mass and driving straight to the shore to play guitar, watch the waves and enjoy the beauty of the morning. “And it felt more spiritual than any time I set foot in a church,” he recalled....

    saturnonice,

that is disappointing. was thinking about installing plasma next week. any workarounds? any other things that don’t work on a laptop?

    saturnonice,

thanks will have a look. maybe there’s a workaround somewhere

    saturnonice,

So glad I don’t have to use Windows at work

    saturnonice,

would be great to know if it comes with drm. I don’t have a kobo. It says ‘use on any device’ on the humble page…does that mean no drm?

    saturnonice,

I fully agree. User accounts should be separate and content should not automatically be hosted on all linked instances. It’s not scalable and will only lead to endless defederations.

    saturnonice,

This looks like a good(?) way to have lots of drives connected to one machine: github.com/trapexit/…/Real-World-DeploymentsI don’t have any experience like this, I have the CS380 with standard loadout… just thought it was a funny way to add lots more drives.

    saturnonice,

that's the big elephant in the room when they keep moaning about having to be profitable and all the apps leeching off them. I'm surprised none of the reporting so far has focussed on this point. peak hypocrisy.

    saturnonice,

yeah young people these days innit. now get off my lawn.

    saturnonice,

yeah I woke up and thought I was in the jungle

    saturnonice,

Yes same! I can always go back to early seasons if it's not good.

    saturnonice,

That's just so great about this series. So much stuff that just doesn't make any sense at all but they don't explain, don't apologize, even double down...just pure silliness but with splashes of brilliance.

    saturnonice,

they come across as quite desperate...are they maybe realising that they're playing with fire?

    saturnonice,

any opinions about leaving a drive or two at work? I'm wondering if there's any risk to this, but it seems a convenient way to have off-site storage if I leave a couple drives in my drawer at work. encrypted of course...

    saturnonice,

yeah that's a good point. would need a good explanation for the presence of drives that nobody can open.

    saturnonice,

I don't think it's necessarily a problem. Some famous runners had long careers despite pronating. Whenever I tried to fix it I created other problems. Most books I read recently recommend not focussing on the feet but on the hips through strengthening and stretching.

    saturnonice,

Yes I agree. It's kind of amazing how politics can ruin a conversation. Especially online. I find that can happen even if I loosely agree with the other person.

    saturnonice,

I almost completely stopped running for like 6 years and my rhr increased quite a bit (to about 60). started running seriously again 3 years ago and down to 50 atm. So at least in my case it didn't stay low...
