I agree. I have been thinking the last few days how Kbin can sustainably keep the servers paid for long term. A non-profit, Wikipedia style arrangement is the only thing I keep coming back to that makes sense.
I like to do several things before an interview. For me, the best way to minimize the anxiety is to feel prepared. I will research the company a little and try to come up with at least 3 questions I want to ask them. Asking the right questions and gauging their responses lets me feel like I have some control, and it usually reveals possible red flags.
On the drive to the interview, I will put on some of my favorite songs and karaoke that shit. It releases endorphins that helps my confidence and forces me to breath and oxygenate my blood. I tend to in the first few minutes of an interview breath pretty shallow, then when they ask me the first questions I feel out of breath and that makes the anxiety worse. While I am sitting in the lobby waiting, I breath deeply and slowly while going over my questions in my head. That way I am not death spiraling in my head and reinforcing the idea that I have some control in the situation.
I saw that. I wouldn't be opposed to that for Relay, but I wonder what the Reddit community is going to look like in the very near future. I wonder if it will be worth sticking around Reddit.
The biggest problem with kbin is honestly quite simple, but I don't people is talking about is the fact that finding the magazines that I'm subscribed to is in Settings > Subscribed, on Reddit, it's literally in the top bar, I don't get why it's buried in settings. Another thing is why is my home page full of posts from...
Lets all remember that Kbin is not reddit. We can't expect it to be a drop in replacement over night. It will take time to develop into a smooth user experience.
I have been joking to a couple of friends today who were also redditors that I've been feeling withdrawals from reddit throughout the day. Like I knew I was addicted, I just never thought I was going to have to face the consequences of withdrawals!...
I have definitely felt bummed about it. My reddit account is pushing 12 years old. Lots of good times on there. Lots of good information, It recently has become a great goto place for finding IT assistance for unique scenarios. I will miss it. I am excited by Kbin though. I missed the Digg to Reddit transition. It will be interesting to see the Reddit to <Whatever comes next> transition.
Is kbin.social anti-corporation? Should it be?
I'm seeing discussions on other instances about how a "federated" corporate instance should be handled, i.e. Meta, or really any major company....
KBin Customizations
Since a bunch of redditors are migrating over I thought I'd share the kbinStyles magazine:...

What are you using for team documentation?
Hi, all!...
How do you deal with pre-interview anxiety?
I've got one coming up soon and am nervous as hell, as usual.
We need devs of third-party apps for Reddit to make apps for kbin
In addition to asking devs of third-party apps for Reddit to make one for Lemmy, why wouldn't we ask them the same for kbin?

OC Any other former redditors feeling grief?
