I’ve been seeing a worrying number of these people on Lemmy lately, sharing enlightened takes including but not limited to “voting for Biden is tantamount to fascism” and “the concept of an assigned gender, or even an assigned name, at birth is transphobic” and none of them seem to be interested in reading more than...

roguetrick,

GPT will require every test and yet for the sake of authenticity randomly perform medical errors.

"Permission is Hereby Granted" -- MIT License text becomes viral “sad girl” piano ballad generated by AI (arstechnica.com)

On Wednesday, prompt engineer Riley Goodside tweeted an AI-generated song created with the prompt “sad girl with piano performs the text of the MIT License,” and it began to circulate widely in the AI community online.

Can’t wait to see an AI chatbot in my Google searches that behaves like a typical redditor.

Is it me or does reddit feel, weird?

So I checked out reddit after a long time and was going through the top of r/videogames subreddit and I could clearly see a pattern in most of the posts there. Posts were mostly like “what game ______ for you?” or “what game _____ like this?” Now I could be wrong but it doesn’t feel ‘organic’ (if that’s correct...

Im of the opinion we should reject all advertising and change the dynamic

If someone wants to sell me something they have to pay for my time.

Instead of paying Jake Paul $10,000,000 to sell me something. They just have to pay me the bandwidth or time their commercial just ate up of my free time.

I work all fucking day and barely get 6 hours before bed. 3 of those hours is running into ads fuck that.

I drive home and have to look at fifteen rusted ass giant metal billboards barely holding together instead of cool ass trees and birds.

I turn on the radio to get a song, 3 minute DJ giving me gossip about celebrities I should purchase from, 2 minute commercials and another song.

I turn on Spotify i pay for and get ad reads all podcast long along with the host sneakily promoting their new chewing tobacco or liquor.

I get home and kids are watching prime, with commercials. Shit doesn’t stop. It keeps encroaching into our free time. Its like an Edgar Alan Poe story but written by Edward Louis Bernays

I hate advertisements

There’s a joke that goes

I am Firm; You are Obstinate; He is a Pig-headed Fool.

By analogy,

I’m challenging offensive assumptions; you’re asking stupid questions; he’s sealioning.

derf82,

They were going to kill off Harry when they introduced 7 of 9. But then People Magazine put Garrett Wang on a sexy men list, so they killed Kes instead.

The really crazy thing is the fallout from that. Originally they were going to add a male Borg, but since they were now eliminating a female character, they instead cast Jerri Ryan, who was married to an Illinois Republican. The time separate put a strain on their marriage and they divorced. When her husband ran for Senate, he looked like a shoe in. But when the media got their divorce records unsealed, there was some embarrassing things that led to him dropping out late in the race, clearing the way for an upstart state senator Barack Obama to be elected instead.

So, in effect, People Magazine editors thinking Harry Kim was sexy lead to the Obama presidency.
