The mystery of what #DarkMatter actually is remains the ultimate challenge of modern fundamental physics. The core question is whether it is indeed a missing mass source, such as a new type of matter, or whether the #gravitational law is simply different at gigantic length scales. Aqual is a MOND variant that is also ruled out by the new paper at 12 sigma based on the Gaia data set. Not saying that the score is settled for good, but it definitely is a major blow against MOND and Co.
