I've been fostering kittens for about 2 years now, but this is my first experience with true bottle babies. Immediately prior to this, I was fostering a mom + 5 kittens when the shelter asked me to see if she would take in 2 orphans who were not thriving, so I had a very brief experience with bottle feeding while introducing them to mom.
All three of these cuties have tried to die on me and required emergency veterinary care, including tube feeding, each at different times, but they're making it through now, and are handling the weaning process really well.
The black one up front has been especially slow to gain weight (average of 7g/day) but seems to be catching up now that she's eating wet food. I'm super relieved to be able to sleep for more than an hour or two at a time now, but will definitely foster bottle babies again.
