In an interview with IGN, Persona 3 Reload producer Ryota Niitsuma and chief director Kazuhisa Wada confirmed that Persona 3 Reload only features content present in the original release of Persona 3.
What a missed opportunity to actually give us a definitive version of the game. Instead we get less than P3P or FES. I don't know why I expected better.
Disappointing, but not that surprising that we're not getting the Female Protagonist. The remaster of Portable felt like an admission that the FEMC wouldn't be part of a remake. Not including any of the FES content is weird, but I also can't say it's not on-brand for Atlus.
As someone who has never played any Persona game, what's even the point of this rerelease if it's not including content from what seems to be more superior versions of the game?
people get attached to the series, and ask atlus for a port, remake, or otherwise, and atlus decides to “play it safe” which leads to them only half delivering on what fans want, like the release of the p4g port on steam. then when they realize they can go all the way, and make a great decision, like porting the rest of the games to every platform, they then go back to taking half steps again, like cutting half the content from this remake.
Like it was said many people get attached to these games and want remakes. There is also the elephant in the room that 3 doesn't play as well as 5R does gameplay wise.
Forgetting the visuals for a second, the persona series has evolved far past the roots of 3 and 4 and this way Atlus can get more people into persona while still not alienating fans because, "P3P is on PC already" which generally has all the content people want (honestly look up any discussion on 'The Answer' and you'll see why it doesn't need to be included). So fans will have an original-adjacent version and newcomers will have the new version closer to 5R. Which I'm guessing they hope both parties double dip
I had heard this and I'm really bummed they are dropping the female protagonist. Being able to play as a women is one of the reasons I loved Persona 3 portable.
