@brainwane - recruiting effectively for a tough CEO/ED who can broker between staff and the board is one aspect of it (and I'd certainly relay your thoughts about that to them if you're willing to share). Another aspect: rumor has it that the current board believes the organization can scale quickly to $10MM/year, possibly this year. WMF was at $10MM/year when I joined, so I know roughly what that looks like. My hunch is that they should set their goal for the coming year at $3MM/year, because I don't think they're ready for a $10MM/year run rate. According to their website (here: <https://electionscience.org/about/transparency/>), they were a $1.4MM/year organization in 2022. In a just world, the Center for Election Science would have a similar budget to FairVote, but that's not the world we live in. I think we'll be nearing the end of Biden's second term before CES/C4ES has a $10MM/year budget and the staff to support that kind of funding (if that ever happens).
