@governa some solid points here. I think being FOSS based is overestimated personally. Most people will never look at the code, let alone understand it. Everything else he mentioned are far stronger arguments.

@governa As an alternative, you might try Wire. It's free software E2E encrypted messaging and last I checked working on federated operation and better scaling for large groups/conversations. It has replaced my uses of Signal for all my contacts that are on both.
