Ruth Graham reports on a backlash that occurred recently after the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day issued a statement celebratingf the LDS Relief Society which said,
“There is no other religious organization in the world, that I know of, that has so broadly given power and authority to women."

This created a furor with more than The post had more than 14,500 comments pouring in immediately to the official LDS instagram account where the statement was made, almost all of them saying what a joke the claim that the Mormon church empowers women is.
I myself have heard Mormon women make this claim with a straight face, knowing full well that ordination to priesthood in the LDS church is restricted to men — so some equality and empowerment this is!
