I don’t have Android Auto in my car, but I’ve used it on my mates cars. It’s…nice, but I prefer something with physical buttons that provide tactile feedback.
Most of the Android Auto or Apple CarPlay units I’ve interacted with are pretty underpowered and the voice interface doesn’t even work like it’s meant to.
Sure, go ahead! I can clean up the other ones after you do. Something I’ve noticed for Lemmy is that a brief intro at the start can help to keep the markdown text out of the main page description box.
man that was nice phone. If I where you I would wait to see the reviews on the pixel 8. Since the battery life on the new pixels has been below average (had the pixel 6 pro and now the 7 pro). Also depending on the version, I would recommend the OnePlus 11 instead.
As a Pixel 6 Pro user, I’ll probably be picking up an 8 Pro on the account of its flat screen. If Tensor G3 is made using a smaller manufacturing process, that’ll be a bonus. Some 50-100mAh up or down on a 5Ah battery is meaningless and more about the shape of the device than anything else.
Curved screens were a nice marketing wank to sell a few newer models but there are few advantages to them and some significant disadvantages. I’m sure most people still buy the marketing though since I have to point out the issues for them to people to notice them. 😁
Looks super fucking nice… Now if only I had a Spotify account lol.
EDIT: Same fucking problem the official app has… Can’t put it into landscape mode on the now playing screen. That’s how I have my phone mounted to my dash and it will only go vertical… So fucking dumb.
The only person that’s happy about this is Elon, because it vindicates him. Everyone else should be outraged. Honestly, Google needs to start paying us, because this absolutely isn’t right and they will profit massively.
You use all their products for free, that is the condition. Quid pro quo. If you don’t like it, just stop using their services. I’ve been using duckduckgo for years. I do use gsuite for my email, but because I get it free. If I didn’t I’d move to proton. If everyone stopped using Google they’d be forced to improve things for their users, but they’re a conglomerate and can pretty much get away with anything.
I don’t use Google search. I’m forced to train their AI for captchas. They’re already using content I produce to sell and display adverts.
I understand that some people are like house slaves, hand out ready to scream, “yes massa!” but I know the value of my data that Google get and use and they’ve already gone way too far.
Interesting, I had no idea 3P clients for Spotify was possible. I dig the UI. Will this still give me all my Spotify playlists (incl. Recommended ones from Spotify like daily mix etc)?
This basically combines Spotify playlists, lyrics, and metadata with the actual audio files from YouTube. It seems pretty clever to me. I have Spotify Premium so it isn’t as relevant to me but it seems like a great alternative for folks who don’t.
The internet belongs to everyone, google should have as much right to it as us. I use public data when I make a fine tune of an llm or a stable diffusion lora.
The only ones to benefit from restricting data access are the big companies, because they already have it all. Don’t fall into the trap of advocating for a closed copyrighted internet, it will only hurt the little guys and literally no one else.
I know but it’s such a novel test. Like in the almost 15 years I’ve have Smart phones, let alone the 20+ I’ve had dumb phones, I never bent my phone in anyway.
If I had to choose between a product with better software and camera capabilities, then one that just doesn’t bend as much, I would probably choose the software and camera one 99 times out of 100
I just don’t personally see a real world scenario where whatever happened would have the strength or even be able to bend it past 180 degrees due to the fact that well…. Any flat surface or a couch wouldn’t go past 180 or a couch maybe a bit more but that wouldn’t break it.
I think the only scenario would be to lay it open into a backpack between other stuff. But im sure, other phones could bend then too. I also think a human bend test is not reliable, because its very hard to measure the force you need to bend it. Maybe not everyone has this power in his hand as Jerry 😂
