RyanIbanezMan,

Hello!

I have a device (LED strip) that I'd like to substitute an adapter for. The first adapter (pic 1) isn't long enough, so I'd like to sub it with adapter 2 (pic 2).

I think this is all OK, but I pulled adapter 2 out of a box of cables I had in my parents' house and I just want to be sure before I plug anything in.

Pics

Thanks!

Duallight,

Voltage is the same, and it provides enough amps, however if you see the little circle symbols (3 circles connected with lines, 2 are labeled + or -) the polarity is reversed, meaning it wont work.

RyanIbanezMan,

@Duallight I did see the polarity, but the broken circle is still pointing to the + on both plugs, so I thought that was same polarity but the symbol is just different for some reason, are they definitely opposite?

Duallight,

Hmm I didn’t notice that at first look. I’m not sure if what direction of the broken circle matters, or if it’s based on what side its on. Heck it could be that the second one just got printed upside down. So I can’t say for sure if they are actually opposite or not. If you have a multimeter, you can test it to be sure
