Boba Guys on Instagram: "Today is #NationalTapiocaDay! Over five years ago, we opened the country’s first (and only) tapioca manufacturing facility @usbobaco . It survived the pandemic, so we are extra grateful to still be rolling and tumbling some balls for you all. We’d like to say we are still the country’s foremost expert on (tapioca) balls. 🤣 Tapioca is the starch of the cassava plant. Cassava historically had been a plant grown in South America before its popularity grew in Southeast Asia, largely for its use in desserts. Tapioca is super versatile— you all know it for boba, but it’s also used in pudding, cakes, and even tempura batter. It’s what gives the chewy (ie QQ) mouthfeel. So cheers to tapioca today! 🧋"
