Have now finished the ep. Good ep, as always! Peter read and reviewed it this time. He seems to like Lewis’s writing but was fairly critical of his lack of awareness and sycophancy towards SBF.
i can recognize that sometimes getting away with massive amounts of fraud and theft is sometimes as easy as just being the right kind of charming and personable guy. that someone who talks smooth gets the benefit of the doubt. what i don’t understand is how SBF’s outstandingly bad interpersonal skills don’t seem to immediately disqualify him from getting the starry-eyed treatment he got (and still gets). is it really just the fact that he’s rich?
They say at one point that by being flaky, aloof and indifferent while rich SBF may have accidentally discovered the rules of pickup artistry for VCs, which is not a bad take.
i suppose if Elizabeth Holmes can wear Steve Job’s turtlenecks and carry a biomedical scam to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars by doing so, maybe “financial pickup artistry” will see more success attracting VC funds than “pickup artistry” has attracting the ladies

I went to check if he is tall, since tall people just get bonus charisma for no good reason. I found a pic of him next to orlando bloom, who is apparently 1.8m. He was a little shorter than that, maybe an inch or two, putting him at 1.75m ish, or 5’9”. So not that tall. So I don’t have any fucking clue either.
FWIW I clicked through all their references to see if they cited you (they did not). One day your name will come up organically through the various media I consume, but today is not that day.
