@Tim_Eagon I had this game back in the eighties and it's always stuck with me. Probably because it was just a text adventure which as a very young boy, I found disappointing at the time.
I think a larger version of the art was used for a band album sleeve as well.
@Tim_Eagon lots of TTRPG bangers of course, but taking a different approach, there are a lot of good ones from the SNES/SFC era of JRPGs, these from the Brandish series are some of my favorites.
@Tim_Eagon McBride was a bit of an odd man out compared to other RPG artists at the time -- he would have been about 50 at the time, lived in South Africa as an immigrant, and had extensive experience for Osprey & various British educational magazines before working with I.C.E.
It's named Malleus Monstrorum so I think it was intended for the book of the same name from Chaosium. It's by Loïc Muzy, same artist who did the book's cover.
