Consoles are better is you have a bunch of friends over and you want to pass the controllers around on the couch in the living room.
PC is better for the battlestation in your room.
Bimfred, I took my old gaming rig and set it up in the living room. Hooked it straight to the TV, got a wireless keyboard and 4 controllers. Couch gaming, emulators, streaming, whatever the hell I want.

I use a Steam Link myself, works pretty well.
