What classic Nintendo games do you still return to?

Since they announced the remake of Super Mario RPG, I've found myself playing the original again.

In fact, I have a few classics that I still play regularly.

  • Zelda ALttP
  • Super Metroid
  • Metroid Prime (Switch remaster is 🔥)
  • Kirby Air Ride (City Trial is still my go-to party game with my 30 year old friends)
  • Super Mario 64

What about you guys?

lavaplanet,

The Guardian Legend

Best NES game.

Enantiophobe,

Metal Max Returns. Open world SNES game. Ride around in a tank that you can customize and upgrade. Fight monsters. Jump out of the tank and explore ruined skyscrapers. Quite fun.

Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. Open world SNES exploration game in the age of sail. Trading, piracy, or make money selling your discoveries.

phi1997,

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land is a comfort game for me. Also revisiting HeartGold to use my Pokéwalker

KotActually,

I spend a lot of my time around classic games but man do I still sink a lot of hours into Mario Golf Toadstool Tour. The game is about to turn 20 so I've been playing through the cups/challenges again.

Shadow Mario is still one of the coolest unlockable characters m

Yoshi's Island on SNES

Baaron87,

I don’t replay games too often due to life in general and time constraints. Made time earlier this year to go back through A Link to the Past and Donkey Kong Country. Considering going back and playing Ocarina of Time sometime soon

inatsera,

honestly, i'm always running so far behind on my backlog that i rarely get to replay games. mario world/mario 64 is what i replay when they get bumped into a new service

Kichae,

Mario 2, Mario World, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Kart, and Double Dash

Boiglenoight,

I’d like an F-Zero that captures the visual style of the 16-bit version. More cartoony / anime than realistic.

thingsomething,

I've never really stopped playing Super Mario World.

JickleMithers,

Do you play any rom hacks?

redsol2,

Mario World world map is like a Mario Kart track at this point. Every year we take another lap.

Wolfiexo,

Super Mario 64! I love that game. It brings back so much memories.

I'm probably too young to have it as a childhood memory, but I play it now and then on emulators, it's such a great game

TheLameSauce,

If I still had my 64 I'd break out paper mario once a year.

_hauf,

Done this twice since Nintendo put it on the virtual console. Still such a fantastically funny and entertaining game.

redsol2,

Love the OG! I've heard Thousand Year Door is even better but I haven't gotten around to playing it.

Emulate it! Project 64 is great, among others, I'm sure.

Sjoerd1993,

Apparently Pikmin 1 if that counts as a classic. Played it first last week, and it’s been amazing. Got the rest of the series straight after.

If that doesn’t count, I still regularly play Super Mario 64, which is one of my all time favorite games period.

tree_frog_and_rain,

would love to do an OG Zelda playthrough with my kid and then try to beat the second quest

Zoness,

Gotta be Star Fox 64 for me
