I am developing an Android Pixelfed client and I have a problem. When the user chooses to authenticate using Sign-in-through mastodon, the internal browser used for the login process is not closed and the “Do you want to authorize this app”-screen is never shown. The user would have to close the browser and click again on...
i.e. just the image itself without any UI elements? Reason for the question is it would be ideal if Lemmy posts could link direct to an image rather than the site itself.
I can install and run pixelfed on a subdomain, for example, pixelfed.example.com. However, I also run mastodon.example.com. My webfinger points at mastodon. How do I configure a webfinger for both pixelfed and mastodon? How do you all have your webfingers setup when you run multiple activitypub-based services?...
I create an account yesterday on a pixelfed instance to post new hip hop releases and was flagged as spam. It’s been 24 and still no review. Why is that? Did anybody has the same problem and how long did it take for the post to be listed?
Can I add more locations, for example I search and find Alum Creek, but I want to tag with Alum Creek State Park. How do I add more locations or a location that isn’t found.
I have a meme account on Instagram, which I’d like to also have on the Fediverse. Can anyone recommend me a Pixelfed instance for this? Or maybe another type of server?
Hey all I’d really like to use pixelfed but I’m having an issue where I assumed that the followed hashtags would show up with posts on my home feed with those tags. However it does not seem to be the case. Is there a way for this to work that way? Thanks!...
New to pixelfed, is am using the android client. Overall it works very well but there is one basic thing I couldn’t figure out, is there a way to have the feeds (network/public/home) sorted with some criteria, e.g. Show recent posts with more Likes at the top etc?
I’ve downloaded the beta app for Android and would like to sign up, but it’s r prefer to sign up on a Canadian server if possible. Otherwise what is a country that you trust to have a social media server hosted there? Switzerland?
In the pixelfed webapp you can tag a location (not an #) to your post. But I can’t seem to find what it’s then used for? I can’t see it on the post, only if I press to edit the image and then go to the “other” tab.
Is it possible to have all posts public within an instance, but you have to login to be able to see them? I.e., Private Mode requires you follow someone....idea is that any member of the instance can see all posts, and those that are not would need to login/authenticate somehow....
I’m looking for some people to follow on Pixelfed. I currently already follow a webcomic and a couple of photo blogs; but I’d like something else. Anyone got a personal accountɂ̦ or does anyone post videos?
This would seem like a compelling option to replace instagram feeds in websites - idotj has created a great implementation for mastodon, but I cant see anything for pixelfed.
