Hey you. Yes you, Touhou fan. Tired of r/touhou's too restrictive rules? Want a very active general 2hu forum that's hosted on a #reddit alternative with an explicit strong anti-bigotry stance? Then why not hang out and chill at #Raddle's f/touhou? We've recently reached 100 subscribers and 520 submissions! :D
I would like to join already existing 2hu community, but raddle doesn’t seem very promising and others at lemmy either communism flavored or aren’t active at all. So I will try to kickstart one at lemmy world, the most active lemmy instance

I do agree that the other Touhou "communities" I see in the fediverse is just too inactive. Some don't even have styling! I think they just don't really care about creating an alternative at all, which is a shame. Which is why I've posted here, as a challenge for you, as you seem most equipped for it. I genuinely want to see your community succeed. Diversity of 2hu communities is important!!
@vbb That depends on the communities you're in. In my experience the Anarchism and 196 Raddle forums for example are more active than their counterparts in the fediverse. And of course there's f/touhou, but that's just not fair isn't it? :P

Raddle does have plenty. For one it's lightweight (you don't even need JavaScript), we have a warrant canary, there's a Tor service, no federation shenanigans like what I've seen now, a lot of reasons documented in https://raddle.me/wiki/why_raddle

And in the forum customization part, we also offer more things than Lemmy and kbin, such as the ability to set the background image (with different images for light and dark modes), the ability to embed images in the sidebar, moderator-set flairs, more than two posts pinned to the front page at a time, and forum tags/categories (with multi-forum view from that).
activity: you just picked 3 communities which are more active on raddle. i can easily pick much more which are more active on lemmy.
i can definitely call advantages from second reply “real” but imo they are not so groundbreaking that many users would prefer raddle over lemmy.
@talkingcat There are no apps for Raddle at the moment. But IMHO the mobile web version works perfectly fine for me; it's snappy, lightweight, and can work with JavaScript disabled. That's what matters for me.
Tbh I don't understand this obsession with apps. A lot of BB-style forums like Moriya Shrine, MSFN, and Maidens of the Kaleidoscope don't have mobile apps either; does that mean they're as bad as Reddit?
No, I need a place to scroll, I can access old.reddit and raddle in the same amount of taps. I wouldn’t access MS, MSFN or MOK in mobile even if they did have an app, since I prefer forums and basically anything else on PC.
So until old.reddit dies I don’t have a need for raddle (even though I like it more than old.reddit).
@talkingcat You can install Raddle as a PWA from your browser if you want to access it from your home screen. That will give you an "app-like" experience.
