notthebees,

Technically, “fuck everything in that general direction” can also be applied to bards

Nepalman230,

… are you proposing a sexual cone “attack”? ( consent first last and always)

Such a spelled with maximize efficiency at orgies.

For instance, it apparently took comedian Grant o Brian, 3 to 4 hours to suck 50 dicks. ( this was in a party underneath the supermarket in Brooklyn in 2012. It is unclear whether or not it was his birthday. There was a snack bar.)

In any case, and oral variant of such a special less, you propose would allow him to have done it in a fraction of the time!

Thank you so much for your comment and I hope you’re having a great weekend.

danciestlobster,

pushes up glasses TECHNICALLY you cant cast two leveled spells in one turn, even with action surge. Just one and everything else must be a cantrip.

And yes, I am fun at parties

TimewornTraveler,

XD and if you could, sorcerers already have quickened spell for it. would be no need to multiclass

Royal_Bitch_Pudding,

You need the action surge to cast 2 leveled spells.

Quickened spell changes a spell to a Bonus Action, but doesn’t remove the Action Cantrips only limitation of casting a BA spell

TimewornTraveler,

I thought you can’t cast 2 leveled spells in one turn though. If you could, you could just do it as a bonus action w/ metamagic. That’s what I’m saying.

or does action surge actually bypass this restriction??

Royal_Bitch_Pudding,

A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven’t already taken a bonus action this turn. You can’t cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.

It only stipulates that a Spell cast as a Bonus Action locks off any Action Spells from being cast that turn that isn’t a Cantrip.

But, 2 leveled spells cast as Actions is fair game.

It’s pretty strong, and it’s why the 1DND play test has changed Action Surge so that it can only take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, and Dodge action

TheConsulate,

TECHNICALLY you’re incorrect.

Although many people get this wrong.

d20bard,

pushes glasses even higher That rule specifically only applies when you use a bonus action to cast a spell. (Rules link). Two leveled spells using your actions are fine. Here’s the relevant sage advice to confirm.

While the sage advice doesn’t address leveled spells in action/reaction (e.g., fireball and counterspell) in the same turn, we can assume it is possible as no bonus action is used.

SimplyATable,

YES! Finally someone who understands the bonus action casting rule!!

So using action surge, one could cast two leveled spells and two cantrips in one turn?

JackDark, (edited )

No, action surge only gives you an additional action, not an additional turn. So two leveled spells and one cantrip, or two cantrips and one leveled spell.

Royal_Bitch_Pudding,

Almost.

Action Surge only gives you an additional action for the turn. Casting a Bonus Action Spell would lock off both the standard and additional action from being able to cast a leveled spell.

So, 2 Cantrips + a BA spell works.

2 leveled spells as actions works, but no BA spell even if it’s a Cantrip.

lord_ryvan,

Sounds like a fucking great time for everyone behind the Sorc/Fight!

Maybe two Fire Balls for extra AOE?

HolaMojito,

Two level 3 slots and action surge all for fairly easy dex saves? I hope that was worth it

Better cast Fist the next time.
